How does one cancel their membership

Ah dont get me wrong SLR is an allright sort in some ways but it is very frustrating that he needed to ram down everyones throat about the politics of Limerick GAA. Its a bit like the best man at a wedding telling tales in his speech about stuff the groom got up to in Amsterdam when he was single. You cant be publicising things in like SLR wanted to when he was around. Most of the GAA people are in the media, involved with clubs, might have youngsters breaking onto underage panels. You cannot expect these people to be loading the gun like he expected them to be. I know for a fact that he wanted Liam Aherne to lambast the board for giving Brian Ryan the minor job over Joe Quaid. What would happen then? Joe Quaid still would not have got the job. 95fm would be granted less coverage and volunteers withdraw their services in disgust. Who suffers? Limerick GAA. FFS the Limerick Leader had to get rid of him because every titbit that was happening was in the paper. You cant have that. It makes a laughing stock of the County. I dont deny for one second that he was wrong. He was not wrong 99% of the time but there is a thing called the unspoken truth and it should never be told. Liam Aherne has his own gripes with Brian Ryan after being attacked by him in tullamore after a league game a few years ago. It would have been easy for Liam to broadcast that but he didnt. He maturely decided that the overall picture with McManus pulling the money wasnt worth sacrificing the truth for and if Brian Ryan is a lesser manager and the minors lose then so what. The financial wellbeing of Limerick is the most important thing or we will end up like Tipp and Waterford in massive debt. Its like the guy in Amsterdam. We all know he rode all around him. We all know it is the truth. We all have photographs of him. But you dont fucking tell the tale at the wedding speech. If the likes of SLR could only shut their mouths and play happy families then Limerick GAA would prosper and the All Irelands will follow.

BTW he is still posting on Twitter but not as frequently or controversially

internet backtracking in action

No he is is a bollix in some ways but he is not always a bollix. Your man above got it right when he said there are some things that are a credit to him but it does not give him the right to be a bollix about other things

No way that is the AFR Billy, I call shenanigans.

Correct, Billy always used paragraphs.

Fuck off with your AFR, you pack of cunts.

Ah there is no need to be so negative about AFR. You need a mix of websites. SLR is gone for good. Love the fucker or hate the fucker he is a loss around the place all the same.

Yes, but a TFK survey showed that 87% of recent TFK joiners who used to primarily post on AFR can’t spell and don’t know the difference between there/their/they’re.

Why was the survey confined to joiners? Why not plumbers, accountants, electricians, lecturers etc?

Who gives a shit. If Bandage was riding Mo Mowlam twouldnt matter if someone said

Their riding each other like rabbits
There riding each other like rabbits
They’re riding each other like rabbits

We would still get the message either way

Of course it matters. She’s been dead for years.

Grammar is not an issue.

This forum has proved too high brow for almost all of them. Don’t think you could say a single one of them has impressed around here.

Quality

Spelling and grammar is a major issue on TFK. We’re a high brow forum populated by high achievers and intellectuals and we don’t accept anyone dragging down the collective intelligence of the portal. Fair enough, we have one or two exceptions such as Fitzy but we’re not extending that policy any further.

In summation, people have been banned in the past for posting things like:

“Their’s no way Clare would beat Limerick on a dry sod. Your talking rubbish there.”

Treat this information as a fĂłgra, Billy pal.

Fogra. A Fogra like Plan B in Croke Park.

You allow nonsense talk about non-existent politics in Limerick GAA and then pull someone over a spelling. Double standards? 95FM and the Limerick Leader would not allow the content about Limerick GAA that you allow to be posted here.

Dunph’s in charge of that thread from an admin/moderator perspective, Billy. He looks after all GAA related threads for areas west of Cashel and south of Boyle. I don’t really read that Limerick GAA thread but please direct any comments/queries/complaints to the Dunph and he’ll investigate as long as your spelling and grammar is up to minimum TFK standards.

Surely that should read “spelling and grammar ARE major issues on TFK”

Seeing as we’re in Grammar-Nazi mode!

It is one all encompassing issue, Elvis.

I clearly meant that by my use of “is”.

Clearly.
