Twas a shameful day alright, just goes to show GAA shouldnt be played in the winter months.
Stephen Kelly of Limerick.
If I saw ya I’d knock sense into ya
What GAA players play rugby in the off season, just as a matter of interest. Dont say lads from your local club, I assume you have high profile examples, because most lads I know who play rugby play GAA in the summer.
Anyways big difference between playing junior/AIL rugby and playing pro rugby. Even top level AIL players cant hack playing pro rugby due to the increase in physicality.
Think ROG might do a year or two with the footballers too. We havent had a reliable free taker in a while. Would be a great Centre forward, spraying it around the park, well able to hit the corners.
Just when I started to enjoy Cork Football again and you go along and threaten it with that fucking ejit.
I reckon there’s a change in the mindset of GAA followers outside Cork in relation to this year’s strike. This time last year people were genuinely interested in what was going on and were hopeful of a resolution for the good of the games. In contrast, I think most people outside of Cork really don’t give a shit what they’re arguing about anymore and are pretty apathetic to the whole thing now. Maybe I sense incorrectly though.
We’re in a recession bandage, people have bigger things to worry about that gie and his fucking bitching.
Where’s Caoimhaoin today to give his take on things?
Possibly so, yeah. I think there’s an element of the same story being rehashed again and again too though and people just can’t be arsed hearing about it anymore.
it comes back to the holy trinity of all the ills of the country - the church,Fianna Fail & the GGA - Now the recession has hit there is a backlash at the gombeenism, the selfishness, the corruption, the nod & a wink Im alright jack attitude that these 3 interlinked axis of evil have corrupted our fair nation with

There’s also a skill factor involved in hurling that I don’t think any rugby player would be able to regain after retiring from rugby, unless you have examples.
Physicality won’t get you too far in hurling if you can’t hit the ball, or protect yourself, good ball hop though.
When was our nation ever fair?
Thank god the GAA is as strong as it is, or this country would be in a far worse state.
God bless it.

just after Brian chased the Dane from Clontarf - then the brits colonised us & then the church,FF & the GGA ruined us
I certainly lost interest in the players view a long time ago.
Just glad Cork will field a team is all. No matter how much of a hiding they get
You have evidence of this?
of Brian chasing the Dane?
of the brits colonising us?
or the axis of evil ruining us?
Of Ireland being a a fair country back then. Do I have to draw you a picture or is lack of sleep thats dulling your senses?
If O’Gara had an sense when he retires from Rugby he should go be a punter&kicker in the NFL. He already has US citizenship.
yes- read any history of ireland during the first period of the brehon laws & you will see whata fair & glorious gaelic nation we had
I hadnt thought it through in depth Fran. threw it out there really. You may be right. Eric Miller got trialed with Dublin footballers did he not?
Getting a trial playing football is one thing, it’s basically the same game only a little easier.
Hurling on the other hand is a totally different kettle of fish. See Mullach’s post regarding the skill factor
