The players will be issuing their statment tonight, should be interesting.
Is anything they do down there interesting any more?
Well i think they are going to go after Frank in it, and Ger Mac as well, but they would be better off leaving him alone.
They are far more right this year than they were last year by the way, people outside of Cork probably don’t realise this.
They are just brutal at PR, and i think they thought because they were Cork Hurlers that they would have support no matter what. I’m not sure do people really realise how up up the hurlers have traditionally been pedelstilled. Above Roy, above Collins, above anyone really.
So now they’re willing to leave a man who has done so much for Cork GAA jobless?
hardly jobless
Jobless??? He doesn’t get paid for it, and that is the truth. Look what i was saying was that was the traditional feeling for Cork hurlers, thats now lapsed with this bunch, and they didn’t realise it. I don’t agree with the way they have treated Ger Mac, in fact i am appauled by it. But i’m more appauled by the CCB clear use of him.
People go on about his business, but he won’t loose out there, he has already backed the board to the hilt. If they did something like that i think i would lead the charge down to the Park myself, Frank would be burned at the steak.
Plus i heard in the past that he could loose the GAA and still have a thriving business.
Hasnt Frank been a full time employee of the CCB for something like 20 years? I was lead to believe it was a ful time paying position?
Ah, i thought you were on about Ger Mac.
Frank is full-time, but who are his employers? We are, members of the clubs in Cork. He hasn’t being doing his job properly and Cork GAA is suffering.
Also who do you think made Frank full-time???
Frank.
Yea but I’m sure Frank can be voted out by the delegates, who are voted in by the Clubs, who are YOU
Hes 65 or something. Get over it!
Then vote him out.
Fucking hell, again, you’d think it was the stonecutters or something.

Your not getting it, we can’t vote him out. It’s written in by him that he can stay in that job until he retires/resigns.
We didn’t vote him in, there is absolutely nothing democratic about it.
It’s worse than the stonjecutters, believe me.
I fail to believe that a man in an office in the GAA cannot be moved out, there was a rule brought in recently preventing this kind of thing.
If it is in fact the case that he is set up for life, then this also would have had to be passed at a congress or a convention. At this point it could again have been voted on and rejected by the delegates.
You get the politicians you vote for I think is what they say.
Look I swear these is going to be my last and final comments on Rebel Strike III
Round one, I was in the vanguard of that particular action. Even before they called the all-out I was very vocal that this was the action they had to take.
Round two; I didn’t write one word on it. Not a single word.
If ye want to know why, read the end of this, otherwise here’s Round three:
Its a fait accompli by Frank Murphy that looks like its going to hang him instead of the players. Simple as. I use “Frank Murphy” and not County Board because in Cork, there is no county board. There is just Frank Murphy.
I sympathise for the players more than Ger McCarthy. Ger will never win another medal; whereas the players retain some hope of one or more. They know what to do and they will not be fooled. Ger Mc has had several years to achieve a National Title with a County Side, and he hasn’t yet.
Despite the fewer wins over the last decade in comparison to others; this one as seen financial returns into the funds Frank Murphy controls like no other. It is about time Frank Murphy displayed some respect and regards to the County Players and their clubs.
I personally hate the man, but its personal. But I will say it has to do with the treatment of God.
The GAA Community within Cork and now, thankfully, outside Cork finally recognise that Frank Murphy is a hinderance, a liability and a barrier to success and the future of Cork Hurling and Football. The bell is tolling. I haven’t been this happily excited but nervously cautious since the final 3 minutes of Cork v Meath '90.
My Round II thoughts.
The whole thing was a pack of lies with all sides giving false reasons for their actions and involvment.
The footballers kicked off because they were mortified from the AI. And I also think they were never satisifed with their line out and management that day. Questions that I’m never satisified with the answers are:

How did James Masters get that Injury in training the week of the Final?

And why was his obvious replacement sitting in the stands?
The Hurlers felt their footballing comrades pain having shared similar by having to watch Limerick bend over and hand another one to Kilkenny.
Frank Was Frank. (the county board)
The Supporters said they were supporting the players but that is completely untrue. In Cork any opportunity v Frank Murphy/ County Board is an opportunity that is never ignored, by any generation.
Teddy Holland wanted the gig, he knew his appointment process was wrong and defied the agreements; but he wanted the gig. Why wouldn’t he, Cork currently have a great panel of players.
Instead he boo hooed all fucking winter like a little girl who’s birthday cake didn’t have Hannah Montana candles.
Croke Park shat themselves, but their actions only had one concern. “Mind Cork’s War Chest.” Nickey Brennan was thrilled with all the camera time he was getting. If there are any queries about why the resolution took so long in coming; a good start would be Nickey’s prolonged winter of telly time.
Sin Fucking Sin

That’s just the rule brought in for the elected reps on the County Board itself.
Frank is the Secretary and anyone can apply for the job-think it’s the Munster Council that would hold some of the interviews maybe.
I know in Wexford that Mick Kinsella was the secretary for years-a paid job too. Until beginning of this year when he changed job and is now a coaching adminstrator. The Leinster Council interviewed the people that went for his job then if I remember correctly, finally giving it to Margaret Doyle-who was assistant secretary for a good while.
Frank, does the bad he’s done outweigh the good, discuss.
By a mile. His knowledge of the rules, lobbying etc only won us one game, the Minor semi-final against Derry in 2000, a replay which most Coprk people felt a replay should be offered. Getting fellas off suspension etc has never directly affected results in my memory.
I do believe he has cost Cork an serious amount of All-Irelands, particulary in football. His interferring is well known with selection committees. But the biggest problem has been this, many a good coach/manager has stayed away from the Inter-County scene in Cork because of him. He has fallen out with pretty much everybody. The best footballers were in West Cork for years, but weren’t getting picked, that could be traced back to Frank.
you’re forgetting the drawn munster final v tipp which should have been forfeited, frankie smoothed that one over.

you are talking through your hoop if you say you honestly believe frank has not had a positive influence on all matters cork over the last 30 or whatever years
