Humphries on the Cork saga
You stated that only 8 counties play the game but yet have outlined 10 counties that play it when you know there’s more you’ve left out. Very flawed argument.

Quick question - how many people attended the main match of the year in hurling in 2008 compared to any of the non GAA sports in this country?
there is my initial counties

i dont include dublin where there is more basketballers- the 2 villages in offaly & deepest darkest north antrim as playing the game

doesn’t stop you supporting the LOI…

im not on talking about how brilliant it is - i accept that the LOI is in a poor state - i dont go for the mindless hyperbole that some of the muldoons here go for

MBB seems to be seething:D

Again, you’ve stated that 8 counties play the game which is incorrect. You like to get hung up on other peoples factual inaccuracies so the least you can do is admin you were wrong.

How many people play basketball in Dublin? I presume then that there was a bigger attendance at the Dublin basketball final than at the Dublin hurling final then??

yes 8 counties play - the other go through the motions the rest pay lip service -there isnt much rugby league in ireland but we had a team at the world cup- i wouldnt say that we play rugby league in Ireland

mac- have i not put up the ESRI report before- im nearly sure I have mentioned it- the CSO also says that there are more people playing basketball in Dublin than stick hurling

dont bury your head in the sand mate

The first paragraph is your opinion - not fact.

I remember you mentioning this ESRI report before but dont think you ever really emphasised any particular points out of it.

Why the chip on your shoulder about GAA and Gaelic Ireland anyway? You seem like an angry man these days. Is the sleep deprivation getting to you? And to think, you do so much work defending GAA on other forums.

It would be helpful if you could articulate the story you say it tells.

The fact that there are disparities in the standards of the various counties competing in the top flight competitions is not really evidence to support any of your arguments.

On a separate point, the fact that there are relatively few counties in with a shout of winning it every year is probably more likely to represent proof that the game requires competencies beyond the capacity of the average man.

To summarise, shove it up your hole.

the GGA & Gaelic Ireland are significantly different things - I dont associate Gaelic Ireland with green orangemen, the GGA, The papist church or FF

on other forums?

angry man? huh? i dont think my tone in relation to the GGA has ever changed from slighy critical & inquisitive;)

An excellent afternoon’s work of reeling lads in.
Fair play, it makes for entertaining reading
Opinion and conjecture and there are lads fuming
Keep up the good work
I’d say the two in a row is yours

Birr is slightly bigger than a village NCC.
Thats a very very interesting question Puke, and its something i had completely forgot about. He’d be nailed on for a corner back slot on the football if he wanted, but officially he was a hurler last year. I would presume this just makes his decision for him. I’ll do my investegations and get back to you.

From what i have seen he is a better footballer anyway, and i have always thought he should choose football.
Have a lot of time for him…Serious athlete, would be a huge asset to either team this season, especially the hurlers if the likes of O Halpin or Gardiner don’t return although he probably has more of a chance of winning an All Ireland with the footballers in the next few years…Let me know how your investigation goes

my general rule is - if edward carson liked it or played it then its not for me

carson a dub true and true, but for some reason hated all things irish

Sound kind of familiar ncc
