I believe the 4 of 5 are
Oige
Gardiner
Sean g
Joe Deane
Dont think Ben was one of them, but cant remember the last one.
In theory these men are not inter county players anymore, that is true.

I don’t think their status as inter county players affects their membership of the GPA. I think anyone with 50 to spare can become a member.
But my point being is that say the 4 players that MBB stated plus one more are now not intercounty players so they have no say in intercounty matters. Good ploy by the management if that is the case.
FAO the cork contributors…
If this does come to a head and the cork players withdraw their services, will the club hurlers pass the picket and hurl for the county or will they back the intercounty lads…
Presume the intercounty footballers will back the hurlers after last year…
I doubt at this stage that the footballers will do anything only issue support, but going on strike would be madness, particulary with the direction they are going.
To answer your question, no i doubt anyone would really. While many disagree with the players approach most club players would loath to show any support whatsoever to Frank and his cronies.
The Barrs have come out in full support of the hurlers, i’m wondering will that temper Ronan Currans involvment with their footballers this sunday.
The CCB keep using that they have support of the clubs, i don’t believe they have, they have the support of the delegates who are swallowing false promises of a better club scene. If the players want to win this they have to mobilize the ordinary club player to stick it to their clubs.
True Locke, I doubt it will accepted as simply as that though!!
Was Ronan Curran the 5th?
But I still wouldn’t like to go into 09 without Sean Og and B’occy, wouldn’t mind Deano on standby either.
The others can fuck off to Portugal and become Golf Pro’s on the deserted resorts.
I suspect the 5th is Sully.
5th is Curran.
Its simplistic to assume anyone has taken themselves off the panel at this stage. Even yesterday, Gerald said that the entire panel was unavailable for the game weekend after next.
Word reaches me from Cork that Gerald Mc was on Prendeville this morning. When asked would Cork field for the St Colmans anniversary game on sunday week he advised that all of last years panel had been contacted but none were available to play.
He said he was at the Co U21 final at the weekend and the skill levels and quality on display was as good as he had seen in years (link below), he said Cork will field a team no problem, the inference apparently that he would use plenty of these U21s if required, makes sense as they are still hurling. I know one of the mentors involved in this game well and he would be fullsolid behind the players and Id be slightly concerned that there would be little encouragement to any of these players to make theselves available if asked.
It is mentioned over on AFR as well that Patrick Horgan has stated he will play next year, this would tally with an early report that a ‘young cork forward’ had said at meetings that he had no issue whatsoever with gerald Mc. Fair fucks to you horgan if this is the case, not easy to stand up in front of the militia and you only a young fella. A real Rebel
Interesting to see McLoughlin starring here, I see he was one of the players mentioned in another thread by Caoimhin as one to watch
William Egan (Still a minor) and Aidan Walsh are two more from Duhallow that have serious potential. The Glen are a very good team, but outside of Horgan i would say Stephan Moylan would be the only other possible Cork senior.
Wasn’t at the game, but my Dad said it was the best he saw this year, we have gone to a fair few Senior and U-21 games this year, but he said this was streets ahead.
They’re not on the panel though are they if they’re not called to a match by the management?
Ditto, my old fella was at it as well and said it was a cracker. Said Duhallow were v unlucky not to win it at the end.

Sean Og on tv3 there messing around with the all blacks. I wonder why they wanted a photoshoot with a retired intercounty hurler.
He said that there are plenty of lads that want the Cork job - only problem is someone already has it Sean.

He was on some radio show this evening. Did anybody hear it?
Heard him on the radio today mouthing about gerald saying he couldn’t commit to two more years of a substandard set up with gerald…
No one was asking him to commit, he wasn’t asked back!
Apparently Ronan Curran was told at “Imperialgate” that he wasn’t been considered for next years panel anyway, after he made some comment. With the Barrs blatentley not supporting him the lads in my club were thinking of pitching together and getting him ahouse out in our place and join the local club.
I can see some serious longterm fallouts here.
Frank will go lads, you heard it here first.
If Frank goes we can expect some serious collateral damage on the way
If he went now it would be his greatest service to Cork hurling
I see that the Colman’s Fermoy All Stars vs Cork challenge game to commerorate the 150th anniversary of the school has been cancelled. I think the GAA tactically called in that recent rule whereby no inter-county activity can take place in November and December to avoid having the embarrassment of Cork not being able to field a team and to put a stop to loads of potential stories about what was likely to transpire in the run up to the game.
Can we get a quote about the situation from Pat Dolan?
If he’s not available, I sure his pinstripes would be delighted to comment.
anyone hear Sean Og on newstalk last night?..he’s a shockin bad public speaker…he must have said ‘do ye know like’ about 80 times in 15 mins…after listening to him i was none the wiser as to what exactly his point was …
