That’s correct. Even worse there was a man lined up to come and get rid of the deer as it wasn’t safe to keep him anymore. He was a hugely experienced huntsman, they probably have 200 hounds he was tending daily so massive job of work to manage them now. Very sad situation. I’d know the wife’s family they are a tight bunch she will have plenty support but hard one to get your head around

Same happened Robert Baratheon in GOT . Killed in a stag hunt and had 3 kids .

That’s bizarre. How big do Stags get, they’d hardly be 300 or 400kg?

I just googled it there and it said 240kg would be high end. I’d say a fella kept in a farm would top that though.

Did he get a bit too familiar with the stag,you see it on farms all the time with bulls etc lads get complacent,then bang.Usually doesn’t end in tragedy but sometimes does.My own father in law got gored by one of his own bulls a few years ago and was lucky he only broke his leg.A terrible tragedy @gilgamboa may he RIP.

Had a great walk back the fields with the dogs there. The place was buzzing with wildlife. Foxes, hares, snipe, heron, swans and saw an otter in the river.

The Master of the local Hunt here got killed by a stag yday evening. A man about 40 with three young kids. They had kept the stag at the kennels to train the dogs not to chase deer (would have sheep and goats for same purpose). He was an experienced man and well used to handling animals, including this stag. Massive tragedy and a horrific incident
