I’d say there’ll be a few lads rewatching the Clare v Kilkenny game tonight after the pub half cut. Seething every time Tony Kelly assists a score.
I wasn’t replying to you.
Why would you want to watch the also rans?
Fellas could dig trenches here. I’d rule out nothing.
The tfk way
I don’t think Kelly will or should get one as he was short of the high water mark he has set for himself, I’d say the same about TJ Reid this year too. They are judged to a different standard.
But both are definitely in the conversation if you are picking the six best forwards or 15 best hurlers on performances alone this season.
As I said during the week I’d rather Cathal Malone get an all star for his efforts as he was probably one of the top two midfielders in the country this year but Kelly had a good year in isolation and in multiple games produced spells where he showed he was the best hurler in the country. It’s not the end of the world if he doesn’t get one but lads trying to argue that it would be completely undeserved is odd - it hadn’t been a standout year for I/C forwards and there are not really six forwards well ahead of him on performance this year
I’d agree with that. There isn’t six outstanding candidates.
Cathal Malone has been forgotten. A stellar year.
Indeed, I am surprised to see David Fitz get all star hype. He was a level below last years form despite decent scoring returns. Rodgers far more deserving of consideration
Agreed
This isn’t necessarily the best team but I think it’s most likely
- Murphy - if Quaid made a save of note in the final he’d have gotten it
- Butler
- Lawlor
- Morrisey
- Byrnes
- WOD
- Hayes
- DOD
- Malone
- Tom
- TJ
- SOD
- Cody
- Gillane
- Whelan
I don’t see KK getting two in the FB line
If mike casey doesnt get one its idle
I watched the AIF back today. There have been a few knockers of TJ saying that he doesn’t deserve it or that he’s "judged "differently than the likes of Tony Kelly. TJ worked his bollox off last Sunday and created at least two goal chances that if taken could have really shaken it up. He deserves it if (and should get it)
If his efforts aren’t acknowledged it’s a disgrace
Doubt it. I have him pencilled in ahead of Quaif
I reckon based on that unbelievable save Murphy will get it. An iconic moment in this years championship
