I actually think these would be more interesting if people chose teams from other counties, be interesting to see how players are perceived outside their own county.

Since early 90’s Tipp never had the pick of defenders compared to forwards. Even in lean times we’ve had a good pick of forwards but never as healthy defensively.
Delaney was way ahead of his time skills wise for the position.
There was a period where we didn’t have great forwards in the early-mid 00s. Even John Carroll was a converted back (nothing unusual there, sure didn’t Fox play in the backs underage). John Devane, Hugh Maloney, Dimi Fitz all tried in the forwards at various stages
Back then I remember going to Limerick Tipp games and nobody was seriously worried about the damage Nicky would do. Fox on the other hand was lethal. We went through a period in the late 80 early 90s when we used to get serious hidings but that all changed …changed utterly in the second half of the league final of 92.
