Hurling All Stars

Nothing would surprise me.

Pawdee Maaarrr? You’re drunk.

I think Prunty deserves the award. Was Morrissey ever put under pressure in any game?

Hardly, he got 4 points from play in the championship

Prunty is a good honest lad and did some great things but I’d say he got a serious amount scored off him over the course of the year

He did and yet most people would observe that he played well. Morrissey was never tested in the same way all year.

I thought Prunty was class this season. Two great battles with Gillane. Gillane got one point near half time on Sunday where Prunty had backed off because Hegarty and one other Limerick player were tearing through unmarked. Had he went tight it was a simple lay off for a clear run on goal. Some people saw it as evidence he was off the pace. He was defiant in the second half. The Clare lad got two goals, but don’t necessarily think they were Prunty’s fault.

I’d be happy enough that for the first time in 20 years we have an orthodox full back who can stand on his own two feet

Prunty is class but the one the media are harping on about is the failure to stop the ball going through for Kilkenny’s first goal which was poor. Anyone would struggle to mark Gillane with the ball going in.

What’s there he most all stars any one team ever got? Did Kilkenny get 11 one year or did I make that up?

Limerick have been completely dominant this year but I think the all stars are individual awards and need to reflect individual performance rather than team dominance.

He’s definitely a better stopper. What was the free called for after the double save?

Galway were playing for a draw.

Quaid is the best by far on puck outs though. Why wouldn’t he be looking out at the likes of Hayes hegarty and Morrissey says you, but still,

To be fair, even with all the diving and soft frees he earned, he was brilliant at his peak.

Ah yeah, ball bounced out of his hand didn’t it?

The ball came to a Limerick man who was clipped by one of the Waterford backs running across him.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they crowbarred Tony Kelly into midfield. There was no dominant midfielder this year and the full forward line might need to accommodate a token Galway man like Concannon

Shouldn’t have gone near it with his hand.
