Yeh, replay showed clearly that there was nothing wrong with it.
Poor second half alright, foot off the gas. We won by a goal in the end, didnât we? As Iâm watching it now, thereâs 7 in it with 6 to play but 3 or 4 great goal chances missed by us. Should have been put to bed a while ago to be honest.
He was standing stationary on the line of the square when the ball came to him. Rightfully disallowed. Youâre right about the awkward swing though.
Great save there from Callinan with his nuts:clap::oops:
Allianz HL Division 1B
Cork 1-24 Offaly 1-18
Laois 2-21 Antrim 0-21
Limerick 1-14 Wexford 2-8
So as things stand in 1B
Am I right in saying, that Laois are guaranteed at least a tilt at a 1A team in a quarter final?

When the ball entered the square in the first place he was outside it though. It had been hit in and saved before it came to him as he was on the edge.
The whole goal to aim for and Wally hits him in the plums

Yes, just the goal in the end but I suppose they had a few more goal chances-still need a full back though- Jackie will be hoarse tomorrow with all the roaring he was doing organising the backs in the second half- he wasnât too bad for a bollard.[/quote]

Ya looks fairly certain for Laois now, horrible feeling creeping in that Cork will beat Antrim by 20-25 pts and Lmk will struggle away in one of the last 2 games.
Itâll most likely pit Laois against a superpower in 1A, but thats what Laois are aiming for so be it.
Cork were 8 points up at half time and I feared at that stage theyâd go on to win by 20 points. To win by âonlyâ 6 is a decent result for us.
Big game in Tullamore next weekend. The first priority is to win it, we barely scraped a win there last year when we conceded three or four goals. They pushed Cork to the pin of their collar today, we didnât play too well v Wexford so it is going to be very tough in Tullamore. Laois away the week after will be tricky also as they seem to be resurgent under Cheddar. Youâd have to think that Cork will beat Antrim by a wide margin.
Jesus christ, the SoH walked the three first half goals into the chipp net.
Has Eamon OâShea any idea of what heâs doing at all?

SoH?
Saviours of Hurling
Thank the Lord* for them.

Incidentally, seems thereâs about to be a bit of an upheaval in Westmeath hurling, shame has Hanley seemed to be doing well there but its appears to have gone to shit. Not sure Westmeath had much else apart from that one good minor team and have failed to build on it to any great extent at underage level.
Laois are guaranteed to stay in 1B this year, thats a massive achievement from where that pisshead Teddy McCarthy had left us. May no good come to that ucoam.

Hanley seemed to have a policy where he only picked players if they showed up for training. A fairly reasonable requirement you would have thought. Didnât suit some of the more experienced players for whatever reason and the panel have voted to have him ousted. A pity as he has done a good job there.
Agreed about Teddy McCarthy, disastrous appointment for Laois that time. Like Justin McCarthy when he was with us. Cheddar seems to have come in and steadied the ship big time.

Yea, Hanley seems to have tried to take on the players a bit and that rarely ends well.
No offence, but there was a WORLD of a difference between Justin and Teddy. While Justin was an honourable man in bad situation, Teddy was a disgrace of a man who made a disgrace of himself.

Iâll respectfully disagree with you about Justin. He put his own ego before the good of a whole county. Should have fucked off after the shambles he presided over in 2009. Instead he dug his heels in, slaughtered a whole squad of players for an alleged lack of discipline (which was total lies), divided clubs and everyone involved, got us relegated and was happy to go through 2010 with a token team so he got to save face and avoid being axed by a second county.
Have to respect what he did as a manager elsewhere but he set us back years from his time in charge.
It should read sons of hurlers, arenât two of the cratloe lads sons of chip men?
Conor McGrathâs father is from Toomevara anyway.
Conor Ryanâs father played bog ball for tipp too at some stage.

You are correct. Even if Laois lost their last two games and Antrim and Offaly won both of theirs, the head-to-head is the first eliminator. Laois have qualified by virtue of beating both.
Laois back at the business-end of a national competition.
Saw a few games/highlights yesterday.
Clare are going to take serious stopping this year. Intelligent hard working hurlers with a strong skill-set and complete believe in each other.
Tipp are at nothing as are Galway, both teams are reverting to players who just donât have it when it come to the big summer days and they fall well short. I suspect Dublin will have a few big performances but will get caught as there isnât enough depth in their squad if injuries kick in.
I havenât seen enough of Cork, Limerick and Waterford to comment.
That leaves Kilkenny. Too many lads with too many miles on the clock, though if they win Leinster and I suspect they will, they will be tinker it up big time when it comes to a match up with Clare.
That is all.
