Hurling League 2014

Who claimed we are so much better than any other team? We have a talented bunch who won an AI very early in this tems cycle with a lot of young players. No one is going around saying that we will win a 5 in a row or anything of the like, but are confident that the team will be there or there abouts for a few years yet.

Your post reeks of jealousy as you know Cork blew their shot last September and have fuck all intercounty standard players coming through.

TAN told me 2 years ago we didn’t have any class forwards, I think he said Horgan had potential or was unfulfilled potential or something along those lines, now we have 3 forwards that would walk on any team and could well be 3 of the best -4-5 forwards there is at this point in time.

I think I’ll take a pinch of salt with anything ye Clare lads say about what’s coming thru in Cork.
The way things are shaping up I would say Cork will have a period of unprecedented success in both codes over next 10 years.

Eh, we’ll get a few off last year’s Minor team. We are pretty decent underage these days, we’ve got our act together a bit.

Were you not harping on last year about how Podge Collins was the best Clare forward?

Cork are entering 8 teams in the u16 tournaments this year. North, South, East and West x 2. Has to be of benefit to have that many lads exposed to both good coaching and playing high class opposition.

As Dublin have shown, if you got the numbers, organization is the key to success.

He was up to semi final alright.

What’s your point?

You could make cases for 4 or 5 more easily enough, that was straight off top if my head.

That you thought he was Clare’s best forward but now pick Kelly ahead of him who you protested about heavily last year saying he wasn’t as good. Just glad you’ve seen the light.

But he was better than kelly up to then. After that Kelly was better, what’s so hard to understand about that?
Kelly continued his good form thru to colleges as well.

Neither RTÉ or TG4 bothered their holes sending cameras to O’Moore Park on Sunday. The local videographer put together this, pity he didnt include some Clare scores to make it a real highlights package but it is what it is

Tan, can we have your annual pre championship update on Cork ? You were saying you might need another week? I’d prefer to hear from somebody who’s actually intricately involved in Cork GAA rather than the third hand bluster we’re getting here?

That’s as pityful a response as Clare’s defense of the All Ireland will be come August.
Throw up yours.

Disgraceful omission of Willie Hyland alright.

The All Ireland winning manager and player Davy Fitzgerald is not a bluffer. I’m even aware of certain posters who believe college hurling to be the pinnacle (and who believe that a hat-trick goalscorer in a Senior All Ireland Hurling Final isn’t good enough to compete at that level) but apparently Fitzgerald has a strong record managing at this level too.

Kelly
Shefflin
Power
R Hogan
Podge Collins
Willie Hyland
Harnedy
Conor McGrath
Joe Canning
Danny Sutcliffe

Davy has 3 All Irelands. Its worth remembering that.

Surprised nobody has Conal Keaney on their list, a very effective hurler and has done brilliant to get back playing I/C from a terrible injury in 2011 let alone performing at a very high level. has been excellent any time I have seen him for Dublin and while Sutcliffe is very talented Keaney is still their main man
