Iâm not quite sure you understand the irony of criticising somebody for âover analysing the leagueâ and then launching into a long post about the league and how it relates to championship prospects.
The difference was that unlike your post, @johnnysachsâ one was well written and showed a genuine knowledge of teams and players.
I particularly enjoyed the bit of your post where you said Clare had a âvery logical and science tific (sic) approach to recovery, selection and conditioningâ, despite having just said that âthey could potentially be in tatters by the end of Munsterâ.
First analysis that factored in the sequencing, which is important. I hope it wonât be that important, if limerick somehow catch fire and beat tipp on the first day thereâll be no stopping us (until a semi final).
I pay absolutely no attention to Corks league form, theyâre not equipped for winter hurling and clearly havenât overexerted themselves. I have some faith in Meyler, I like what I hear when he opens his mouth, Iâd say heâs the kind of fella that youâd perform for,
I still think weâre ahead of Clare and Limerick and I wouldnât fear Waterford in the slightest. Time will tell but itâs been shadowboxing till now.
Eh, I havenât claimed to have watched a huge amount of the hurling league to date, pal - although Iâd wager Iâve still seen more of it than you have.
It was pretty clear to me from reading both posts that @johnnysachs actually has seen a good amount of it, because he was able to go into specifics and actual analysis about teams, and I felt I had learned a little bit by reading it, whereas your post, as usual, had nothing to offer except a load of badly written spoofery.
I personally think it is Tipperary and any other team from there. Limerick are definitely improving, way bigger, way stronger and the work rate is the best I have seen for years. I think we will beat Waterford at home, we are well capable of beating Cork away and the Clare game for me will be a 50-50. I think Waterford are a busted flush.
It isnât really, you get it right more often than not but badly wrong too sometimes, no more than anyone else. I like that you generally give specifics and reasons for your preferences for teams though and youâre generally well informed.
In 2013 Clare v Cork were in the relegation playoff they met in the All final in September. Galway are in 1B All Ireland champions Waterford won 2015 league Clare 2016. Only fools take the league seriously
I donât think any team will be whitewashed and there could be some surprise results.
Personally, based on the premise that they donât have a particularly strong squad, my perception that they were somewhat riding the crest of an unexpected wave last year which might not occur again, managerial changes and their league form, I think Cork look vulnerable.
The new Pairc Ui Chaoimh could even be a factor - itâs still very new and the Cork players havenât had a whole lot of time to get used to it, visiting teams will raise their game from playing there, the surface is poor, and round robin matches there are unlikely to sell out, meaning that there will not be a huge intimidation factor.
Limerick have the same problem with the Gaelic Grounds as unless it is full it is not an intimidating home venue in the way Cusack Park can be.
Walsh Park could prove be an intimidating venue but Waterford havenât played a championship match there since 1996 and itâll be a new experience for their players to have to play home and away championship matches as they have almost exclusively played their matches at neutral venues up to this.
In the general scheme of things, I expect the format will suit Galway most of all - They should be able to play themselves nicely into the championship without having to show their full hand, and be able to peak for late July/August, whereas Munster will be dog eat dog, and thatâs why I fancy them to retain the All-Ireland.
@Sidney Would you ever fuck back to the rape thread you havenât a notion about the game bar copying and pasting bits and pieces from elsewhere, you wouldnât know a hurley if I wore it across your double chins you spoofing cunt.
