Cooper was MOTM by a country mile.
No word from Davy?
Good win. Much improved since Waterford game. Not sure why it took a second beating from them for changes to be made, but better late than never. Almost every key player is better suited to their roles now. Ellis, Walsh, Harnedy, Horgan, Lehane. Cahalane and Cooper doing well too is a nice bonus. Shooting needs to improve, but that’s in them. Will be underdogs against Galway, but certainly not without a chance.
Waterford game was a watershed. Realised not talented enough to win by talent.
Won that game tonight with probably a 30% win rate on puckouts. Need to improve.
Christ.
So much wrong out there.
Just headless inside and outside the lines.
Cork got their matchups right and did what they needed to do to win. It was pretty simple.
We changed players while still insisting on playing a certain way which wasn’t working.
The expectation that things will just work themselves out and if you keep training that the “natural” ability and “tradition” will see you through, in most cork GAA teams. It’s very reactive rather than proactive.
However you hve to say they got a lot of it right. Another 10/15% improvement and you never know. Physically I’d worry for us against Galway. If it’s open we’ll have a right chance.
Delighted for Cahalane. Got totally unwarranted abuse and was then played in an alien position. They are getting far more from him out the field.
Think when Cronin goes off Harnedy has to go to the 40 though.
I see a return to SIPTU era nonsense from cork tonight; Nash getting balls from a kitbag, hurls the size of Davy’s head and roaring in lads ears after winning frees
agree
Cocklan is actually how his name would be pronounced in his native north Cork too, gas the way commentators think they are going out of their way to get it right but they are actually getting it wrong.
Ya Cawlan is the city version. I know a few Newtown & Milford heads who say Cocklan also.

Yeah, you’d think a physical battle would be a nightmare for us alright.
I’d never heard anyone pronounce it Cawlan til I went to college.
I came across a number of the Galway lads recently. I was taken aback by their size, and how athletic they are.
Nobody can question the effort Galway put in anyway.
Delivery of ball in the second half was cat, plus hitting wides like that never helps.
The same for me the other way around more or less. With the exception of our great runner.
Eamon Cocklan was Cawlan growing up. I would hear my dad correct commentators.
Thinly veiled galway are dirty and would want watching. Youve been rumbled kev.
Walsh comfortably mom imo. Outstanding
Limerick were utter dog shit. Similar enough performance to the league final we lost against them a few years back. Lads seem to have regressed alarming as hurlers and the one thing you think TJ could have brought to the team, a bit of passion, was sorely lacking. If either of those two teams had been playing Cork or Clare they would have been annihilated. The first game was junior standard compared to the second one.
I was very impressed with Cork’s physicality today. They completely blew Clare out of it at times. Bar the shooting I thought it was a very good game of hurling. Cork were the better team and deserved the win. Nash had a howler on the puck outs and Cadogan seems to be limited enough too, and certainly not the player he looked when he first burst onto the scene. I thought Horgan had a good game from play today, far more productive than usual, even if his shooting was a bit off. Cork could have a say in things yet.
Where do Clare go from here though? The game was in the melting pot with 10 to go and they just didn’t seem to have the players to do it.

That sums it up.
They’ll need to bulk up a bit anyway. Cork blew them out of it at times tonight.
Galway walked over Cork in the physical stakes in 2012 AI semi final they have certainly strengthened things since and it willbe some battle.
