Dempsey, Dave Maloney, Byrnes, Finn, O’Connell would have been worth testing during the league among others.

I think we’re clutching at straws there. Next year for a few of them maybe but we’ll be lucky if many make the step up. Lynch can be added, and Byrnes or ALTC the next most likely I’d say. After that there’s a host we could try but how many are ready to step up and dislodge someone out of a jersey is questionable.

We’re not solely on about dislodging players we are on about thinking ahead, moulding a squad, style, putting some bit of pressure on established lads while doing so. I thought Maloney was a fine corner back a few years ago when on the squad and can’t figure out why he was not given a chance again. Instead we’ve had the same back line all league and championship and now look at us, pal! Huh?? … Listen, i just don’t think Teege is the man when we do bring through a number of younger players - whacking ball in on top of their FF line is not gonna do them much, is it?

Ah I hate Offaly hurling and everything to do with them Joe. We’re not in fairness pal but I’m still very sore about it.

The second goal killed us off completely, to be fair to Richie if he was fit he would have caught that ball. Our tactics were abysmal, Leaving P Maher free to mop up all our puck outs was absolute madness. TJ was never going to be tactically astute so I’m looking at Beary etc more so.

After the Clare game I never thought I’d see Hickey hurl as bad again. Fucking hell he can’t play corner back again absolutely roasted and this falling over shite is driving me mad. Hickey to wing back for me the next day or nothing.

Onwards and upwards and all that but we need to bring in fresh blood to the panel at the very least now, Half forward and full back lines are simply not good enough.

On the bright side, Jason Forde only needed the one pair of togs.
