Hurling Team of the Century 2000 - 2022

Are Ollie canning and John mullane the only players with no all Ireland making the teams?

I’d find space for Ken McGrath.

Horgan

Gillane is closer to the team than SOD

Your heart would go out to Waterford if they weren’t represented.

Ken never played in an All Ireland final

Huh?

2008? That’s not like you. Anyway McGrath is an all time great, medals or no. Similar to Ciaran Carey, force of nature.

I repeat - Ken never played in an all Ireland final. It tarnished his legacy.

If they had beaten Limerick in 07 like they should have done it would have tarnished it further because the Cats would have mauled them

Now I stand under ya.

Yes, he is a very very good hurler. Bit of a cunt but a lovely hurler

Brendan Cummins (Tipp)
Sean Finn (Limerick)
JJ Delaney (Kilkenny)
Barry Nash (Limerick)
Tommy Walsh (Kilkenny)
Declan Hannon (Limerick)
Kyle Hayes (Limerick) - Hurler of the century
Tony Kelly (Clare)
Cian Lynch (Limerick)
Gearoid Hegarty (Limerick)
Henry Shefflin (Kilkenny)
Joe Canning (Galway)
Aaron Gillane (Limerick)
Seamus Callanan (Tipp)
Eoin Kelly (Tipp)

Was mick Kavanagh not protected by an outstanding half back line? And One of the greatest ever directly in front of him.
Yes finn was poor this year but he’s suffered 2 acl’s.
I’d have ollie canning ahead of both fwiw.

Fair point - I don’t think you can put the likes of Kavanagh and Finn in the same league as Adam Hogan until they have to go out and mark marque inside forwards with 40 yards of space in front of them.

Canning definitely the best and Paul Murphy 2011/2012 was exceptional but he didnt last as long at the very top. All this possession stuff didn’t suit him.

He used to be catching high balls over corner forwards heads and lamping it 70 yards down the field.

We used to be a proper country.
