The Galtee Mountains are the most beautiful and picturesque in the country by far.

I’d go for the ranges around Killarney and back along West Kerry myself.

I wouldn’t go that far (the Brandon ridge for me) but they are an underrated auld range. Because they were nearby I went up manys a time in bleak enough weather… I was bowled over by the views the first time I went up on a sunny day.

There’s just a lovely flow to the Galtee’s from Galbally on one side all the way across to Cahir at the other.

Kerry is beautiful but the mountains are just jutting out all over the shop.

I’ve been up the Galtee’s a few times now during the pandemic and it’s probably the only productive thing I’ve done.
