Injuries

Iā€™m seething, Iā€™m a prime athlete yet getting no attention. Who gives a fuck about whether or not uncoordinated cunts like Glasagusban and Mark renton can do their bums and tums class at the gym?

Your ma.

Surely all the fitness advice here is just a bit of craic? Kinda of like Ditzyā€™s GAYFL Football thread or Faldoā€™s Golfing threads, yknow, not meant to be taken seriously?

Iā€™ve been getting pain on the bottom of both my feet the last few weeks after any hard running or any high intensity on the spot exercises. Also I seem to be more prone to pain on harder ground. Anyone hazard a guess on what it could be?

Is it the heel area? Nothing worse than when you canā€™t plant the foot properly. I shattered my heel bone in my right foot a good few years ago and it still gives me a lot of trouble, itā€™ll never be fully right. Easily the worst pain I have ever felt in my life

Plantir facietis

I cracked mine before and went in to hospital. Nurse trained to read X-rays said she saw nothing in the X-ray it was probably badly bruised and sent me on my way. I asked could they give me some crutches pointing out the already very obvious fact that I couldnā€™t walk. No dice. Had to take a flight for a job interview and walk miles through airports and at either end a few days later, agony every step. Went back to the hospital and radiographer refused to X-ray it again (it was nearly time for her to go home) eventually got a sound doctor to do it, crack in it as clear as day. Full of apologies and royal treatment then they were. Cunts.

Li-ti-gateā€¦lit- ti - gateā€¦

Does sound like plantar fasciitis.

I suffered something similar- Foreign doc said there was a clear fracture in ankle- made an appointment at the fracture clinic for me and Dr Paddy Potato said it was a bad sprain and to take two/three weeks rest and should be fine. 2 years later and iā€™m still having trouble with it. Feels like there is a gap in the bone, like it never healed properly.

Probably why they were falling all over themselves to help me after. Fuck it itā€™s in the past now.

Broke my arm a couple of years ago. When I went to a&e the doc said there was no break, just bruised but heā€™d send me for an X-ray anyway. Break was clear as day on the x-Ray with surgery the next day. Never forget half of them drank through college too and then just crammed half the subjects for the exams to scrape a pass!

The same as every profession.

On the job training is far better.

Of course the break was clear on the xray thatā€™s what theyā€™re for.

Our do you think doctors come equipped with xray vision?

Dear @Horsebox, itā€™s certainly my s.i joint that is playing up. You could also be right and I could also have a bulging disk but nevertheless, an MRI will do nothing for me, I have to learn to manage the back- proper footwear- stretching- weights only for maintenance, not heavy- but flexibility is king. Iā€™m gonna start back swimming, go to yoga and some light jogging and stretching over the summer and build it back up. Iā€™ll play my 5 aside once a week but will take it handy and let the ball do the work. Weights wise, probably just body weight exercises from here on out. But thanks for your concern, it has been well noted.

Thatā€™s what Iā€™d have said. No cure only rest from my dysfunctional experience.

Youā€™re welcome, bud. I also plan on starting a Yoga class in the summer when I have more time in the evenings. Stretching is key-try to do at least 5 minutes every day, even if itā€™s just a couple of minutes when you get up and before you go to bed. I donā€™t risk doing any weights but Iā€™m sure you know what youā€™re doing. Iā€™ve been using TRX suspension training for the past 12 months instead and I find it fantastic. Thank you for your kind words and if you need me, you know where I am.

@Horsebox is finally coming into his own on TFK. Let that be a lesson to the Manchester United supporters here who want Moyes out after his similarly inept first year. Well done, Horsebox.

Thanks, pal that means a lot. Donā€™t underestimate the effect your dressing down a while back has had on me also-it has really focused my mind and forced me to strive to be a better poster. @The All Seeing Eye has also been mentoring me over PM for the last few months which has taken away from his own posting time but thatā€™s a blessing in disguise really.
