The cure is constant stretching of the achilles/calf. The muscle under the foot is connected to the achilles and is usually triggered by tightness there. Best this to do is stretch on a step 1 min on each leg and do sets of this
Iām still struggling to walk freely.
You should probably be on crutches mateā¦ hope you are icing and taking anti-inflammatory painkillers? Itās all you can really do until it is well rested and the pain fucks off.
Chaps, my current GP (been going there for a few years mainly due to work proximity) recommends vitamins for every kind of physical ailment. Does anyone have any view or knowledge on this? Sprained wrist - vitamins. Torn ligaments - vitamins. Dislocated finger - vitamins. He seems like a mad cunt. Do some fish oils really strengthen your joints/improve circulation etc?
Fish oils yes, vitamins-The jury is still out on artificial ones and some evidence suggests they are not good for you- Do as kev says and start juicing.
Kevās doctor recommends more salt
Fish oils are bollox aswell

*or some type of hip surgery.
Iāll be off to Santry Sports Clinic based on the results, which were not good.
Iām quite concerned actually.

I hope it works out, mate.
Just to put your mind at ease in reagards to my own situation, I went and forked out for decent Orthotics on the advice of my Physio and the pain seems to be dissipating rapidlyā¦ One leg is slightly longer than the other, plus have I flat feet = fuck all support and all the pressure was being lumped on my S.I joint. It didnt help that I was wearing footwear with very little supportā¦ But iām on the road to recovery, mate!

Thanks, pal.
Iāll get some gait analysis done to see if that sorts out the hip.

Be wide of those gait bastards- many of them are rip off cunts and want you to part with upwards of 300 notes. I know this isnāt much to a high flying business man like yourself, but still, same rules apply.

Been there. Lovely spot. Runs like clockwork. Youāll be brand new in no time. Or you know, several months.
Thanks too, mate. But please donāt presume to type for other people.
Is this place purely a āSport Clinicā or are the consultants general expert sorts?
Iāve gotten it into my head that I have cancer in the hip bone, itās spreading and Iām going to die before I close this really important project finance transaction.

Did they tell you the results?
You sound like a hideous mutant mate.

Are the organisation taking care of you post retirement mate? You hear so many horror stories of former greats being tossed into the gutter by sporting entities, Iād hate to see it happening in this instance.

Well I had my ACL fixed there so Iām pretty sure itās geared towards sports injuries.
Anyone recommend a place in Limerick/Cork to get fitted for orthotics? Iāve been told I have flat feet. Unless anyone can recommend someone in Offaly to save me the journey.
Edit: Also do any of ye know of any recommended foot doctors around the munster area?
I was told by physio that most physios doing orthotics are cowboys. They do a weekend course somewhere or other for 500 euro then theyāre apparently qualified to take measurements which they send to the place that did the course who make the orthotics for them for about 300 quid. Before getting them you probably need to find out definitively if you do need orthotics and if theyāll fix your problem, preferably from someone not trying to sell you orthotics. My guy said that if I did need them I should go to Belgium. It sounds mad but there was a centre there specialised in making them for about the same cost as one of the lads that have done a weekend course, so you get them for the same cost plus the cost of a Ryanair flight to Brussels. The crowd over there will even pick you up at the airport. Anyway it turned out I didnāt need them in the end.
