Taking my time pal. I’ve a couple offers on the table and will probably make a call next week. Not in a position to start for another 3 weeks, so will rattle through 6 or 7 interviews and see what we have.
I have recruiters absolutely frothing at the mouth to get their claws stuck in, and it’s quite enjoyable toying with their lecherous paws. Alas, as a result of the insolvency, any builder worth his salt has already contacted me. It’s been less of a pain in the ass that I thought it’d be.
Taking calls from subbies has been another matter. Most have been relatively understanding but I’ve had guys asking for the boss’s home address. I just hang up on these apes.
These “apes” have bills to pay and mouths to feed. Your company either made an error or overstretched, and now can’t, or won’t pay the subcontractors who will be out of pocket on labour, on materials, on time, and will likely still be expected to pay the wages of their own staff. Your company clearly don’t give a flying fuck. I’d be utterly ashamed were it me. I’d certainly not be calling them “apes”. You were happy to have these “apes” working away for you before you stiffed them.
Fuck off.
I’ve been on the other side of this trying to chase down money from cunts who are hiding and lying through their teeth. It’s easy to deal with but a pain in the hole if people are sound about it. Cunts hanging up phones would drive you insane.
Still waiting on a response from @flattythehurdler and his merry bunch on why providing the location of a family home is a reasonable solution to a bad debt.
A bit harsh mate, people looking for home addresses tend to be a bit irrational, more so when livelihoods are at stake. Business is business, we all go in with our eyes open, the company is insolvent therefore can’t not won’t pay the subbies.
