i dont know, itās not that straightforward anymore when you have a family , you would think itās a simple decision but itās actually not
itās just the sheer inifference to the violence that is nuts, ill be training tomorrow night (if possible given the security) and weāll be messing about, weāre a mixed team racially and this wont even come up, the only way to live is just to accept that you cannot change the situationā¦ thatās how it is, you get on with in
WTB you make some valid points here but ill ask you have ever met an israeli arab?
if you do ask them right now what governement would they prefer to live under and where their quality of life is better?
would they prefer to live under Fatah in the WB? or god forbid under the Hamas dictatorship in gaza?
Most israeli arabs (especailly christians who serve in the military) indentify themselves more with the state of israel then they do with palestine., life in Nazareth under Bibi is 100 times better than Ramallah under Abbas or in gaza where the dictatorship running it only see your kids as cannon fodder for a human shield to fund their jihadist cause
Ill get back to the rest of the thread later as i want to do it justice by replying properly but one of the main reasons why israel survives is because 20% of its population (arab) are perfectly happy to reside in its borders
Obviously most people would prefer to live in a place where the standard of living is higher and where their basic needs will be far more easily met. It has sod all to do with the rights and wrongs of the conflict. Thereās a long and rich tapestry of history as to why the conditions are so different. Arabs living in Israel are likely just glad to be in a place where they arenāt being constantly bombarded by the IDF, and mostly just keep their head down as they fear the consequences of raising their head above the parapet too much.
There is no doubt that Israeli policy fosters Hamas but could it be a thing that Israel can only survive in conflict?
Israelās is and always, more or less, has been a war economy. Massive military spending, huge US aid for same and every eligible citizen in the army or reserve.
A peaceful Israel would go down the tubes economically.
Thatās simply not true. Israel has itās name made with the ādefenceā(Arms) side of itās economy. Theyāll be the go-to experts for a century to come, no doubt these Iron Domes are the latest must haveās for every state who is serious about protecting their citizens, not to mention espionage, assassination, Mossad and their excellence in their chosen field(rights or wrongs aside). There is money to be made but the more a war image is stretched, other longterm industries will be stymied to a degree, Hi Tech,Medical, Tourism, Diamonds, whatever, which all contribute more to the nations GDP tham arms. Iād be fairly certain thatās how most of them would want it to be as well.
Call them whatever you like but the Israeliās are far from stupid, if thereās war to be had theyāll make money from it. If Israel is at peace in the morning, theyāll be alright, their a highly developed economy, complete opposite to a āWar economyā when you think about it.

@Dirty Hands Walter @Rocko please investigate. TFK may have been infiltrated by Mossad or Hamas.
Iād get the IP address of who ever was using your account, it will probably be located in Cobh.
I see a ceasefire has now been agreed for a few hours. Bit late for these 4 little fellas though. So far the rocket attacks have left 213 Palestinions and 1 Israeli dead.
Itās a weird one. @Lazarus quoted two posts. The second one (about the War Economy) is mine alright but the one about wanting peace is a single line in a lengthy post by mickee yesterday morning.
How do I do that?

Probably Laz to be fair, shit like that happens if you initially go to quote something and then head away or Internet drops or whatever and you come back later an old quote can still be in your reply box.
The Cobh thing was a joke in relation to the attention seeking drama Queen not being within an asses roar of a bomb hitting him.
fuckin hell palā¦from beruit to jersualem by Thomas freidman is a must for any kat whoās hangin out in that neck of the woods and apparently Gideonās Spies is meant to be good tooā¦
