Sure why not kill people once they start to look sick?

Or from Tipp

They’ve proved time and again they don’t deserve a vote.

No to the death penalty for convicted murderers, but murder as many unborn babies as you like. That’s the left for you.

Age is irrelevant. Everyone should have an IQ test. If you’re below a certain level then you shouldn’t be allowed vote. If you don’t sit the IQ test u don’t get a vote either. Same for politicians. Minimum IQ requirement.

Wow. what an incredibly ignorant comment.

What makes you think you would pass it?

Life is living.

You can’t live if you’re dead.

It’s fairly straightforward, you give yourself too much credit.

No it’s not.

You need to determine what personhood is before you can call it murder, as murder is defined legally as the willful killing of a human person. From a scientific standpoint it is unequivocal that human life begins at sperm-egg fusion, as from that point to death is a continuum with no other point in between where you can reasonably argue life begins (again from a scientific standpoint, not a legal standpoint of personhood).

The question is at what point does legal personhood begin, and various human cultures, philosophers and religions have been all over the map on this question since antiquity. The problem with bestowing legal personhood before birth is at what point in embyro/fetal development do you draw the line, and determine that the developing life has the same rights as it’s mother. Most reasonable people would conclude that point is at viability where the fetus can live outside the woman’s body, but even that isn’t crystal clear as in a medical emergency the woman’s life takes precedent over a viable fetus, if that medical choice has to be made.

In terms of who should guide society on making these difficult decisions, religion should be at the back of the line or completely disregarded, as it’s beliefs are based on ancient superstitious nonsense with zero evidence to back them up. Ireland’s religion based abortion laws are hopelessly out of step with the developed world, and more in line with African countries and the Middle East. It is scandalous that women have to travel out of the country to gain access to abortion in the cases of health, rape, fetal abnormality and economic circumstances.

Simply just to repeal the 8th amendment. Or will it be repeal the 8th and replace it with xyz ?
