Ireland politics (Part 1)

are you going to provide the breakdown of who exactly is getting them or are you just throwing about loose opinion?
start with the 3265 from 2016.

I would counter that the majority of abortions are not due to rapes or medical grounds but due to unplanned pregnancies from people engaing in actions who weren’t ready to face the consequences.

I don’t want to empowering these people to decide who lives and who doesn’t

Em, it’s exactly what you’re doing. At least take ownership of it.

I’m well able to read and can understand what posters are doing when they say certain things, pal.

And I can see exactly what you’re doing here.

Quite ironic from the person that is up on a “high horse” trying to shut down debate, most likely because they feel (correctly) they are a bad writer and would like to steer discussion away from awkward subjects which require detail.

See @Fagan_ODowd’s last post. Only a numpty uses such a cliche.

“Bad laws make hard cases” is a much more applicable adage here.

Is abortion available on the mainland?

You want women to choose that they don’t want a baby to live after knowingly and willingly engage in actions that creates babies.

Empowering people to run away from the consequences og their actions is something I’m against.

By the standards of other European nations the Irish record on women’s rights is embarrassing and shameful. It is hard to understand until you see the caveman attitudes that are stirred by the abortion debate. Women can’t be trusted to make decisions about their own bodies. Weird fuckers like hbv and nembo apparently know better.

What about the right to live?

If it’s all about the right to life, how can you explain the exact same people thinking it’s ok to blame a girl for her own rape. Give me a fucking break.

And once you’ve forced women to have babies they don’t want - what happens with the child then?

the next logical step after this ‘#appeal the 8th’ bandwagon would be gender selective abortions. its mind boggling where these nutters want to take us

Much like the objections from the usual suspects in the US over the protests during the anthem, these views always come back to a fundamental belief in the primacy of the straight, white man and that society should be organised for the benefit of the straight, white man.

wow, what a really simplistic arguement

Exactly.

The result of this referendum will drag us into line with the rest of Europe.

Sure last week you were all about the right to tell other people how they should live.

A feotus can’t survive on its own - it can’t have a right to life until it is an independent being which is at week 20/21, until that point, when it can survive outside the womb, it should have no rights - and if it does, they should be overridden by the mother’s rights up to that point.

Semantics, it lives unless you make the decision to kill it.

I don’t think people should have the option to delete life because they don’t like the outcome of their irresponsible begaviour.

Abortion is allowing people a delete button for their reckless behaviours. Actions have consequences.

People are free to choose in life - they have to live with the consequences. Who are you to tell anyone what they can and can’t do with their bodies?

People can kill their babies if they want. I just don’t think it should be legal.

are you serious? fucking hell there are some right fucking imbeciles posting here.

unlike an awful lot of the permanently outraged little righteous pricks on here i was faced with this exact scenario 22 years ago. i know what im talking about. the child that was at that moment in time unwanted by the hormonal mother who was carrying it went on to have a spectacular childhood with a fantastic mother. i fought that tooth and nail and won and ill fight it again for the thousands of unborn childeren facing murder every year in ireland.
the rights of the unborn are more important than the righteousness of a group of utter fucking creeps within our society who are totally out of control feasting on the next just cause before moving onto the next without ever having to deal with the consequences of their shitty little actions.
