The report is a sham. Judge didnât have the balls to say it out.
Wrong
Because Bertie wouldnt have promoted Shatter in the first place. Not enough of a yes man.
My genuine feeling is the last attempt at a leadership coup has left more scars then previous thought. The Kenny supporters feel he owes them one and the opponents doing what they want. Throw in Labours poll ratings and the ship is already sunk.
Say what you want but if the Brits economy had been turned around as well as ours had ( on paper at least) Cameron would be in power for the next decade at least.
It looks at this moment in time that best case scenario for Kenny isa munority government supported by FF
Gavin Sheridan (@gavinsblog) on how the government managed the report release.
As someone else said, the vast majority of Irish media outlets / journalists then focus their reports entirely on Enda Kenny saying he was vindicated rather than actually forensically examining the report.
Itâs like how the Scottish media historically treated / reported on the defunct Rangers. New billionaire owner Craig Whyte will provide massive transfer war chest to Ally McCoist!
Thatâs an excellent summary he provides but heâs losing all credibility with the very first word of it.
Niall Collins and Mick Clifford giving it socks on UTV Ireland there now
Its fantastic to watch, its a total FG clusterfuck but its the labour AG who looks like theyâre being thrown under a bus. Fantastic
Ah Art, Enda did his very best to try sweep this under the carpet and make everyone think that there was nothing in the report and just move on.
Not a fan of Noel Whelan usually but this article on the Fennelly Report is good. I donât think Kenny can sweep this one under the carpet.
I think itâs a serious issue but I donât really think it exercises the common voter who is more worried about taxes, jobs, water charges, housing etc. Itâs the classic scandal (see similar for SF and FF) that the media and politicians go nuts over but doesnât really filter through to polls.
Ya, I donât think this will even register with the public. The FG management of the release of the report was top drawer and ensured the first narrative the general public got was a positive one, the majority wonât dig any deeper after that.
I think youâre very wrong on that; Kenny promised a ânew way of doing politicsâ but has been just as slebheeny as FF. they will be punished heavily for this. The opinion polls are not reflective of any actual polling in either bye, local or EU elections
Possibly/Probably but heâs again lying on matters of significant national interest. Time for another YOU WERE IN THE IRA attack on Adams and a YOU RUINED THE COUNTRY one for Martin.
Art is right here. FG promised a new way of doing things and they have been been as bad if not worse than FF. They are going to be hammered for it from the penalty points fiasco, the garda commissioner sacking or constructive dismisal, the attempted Seanad election of that no hoper, Reilly putting clinics from his constituency to the top of lists, Shatter no more needed for him, Hogan enough said and the complete disaster that was putting together the committee for the Banking enquiry. It is a long long list of fuck ups.
Irish water
Ah there is more I could have included. Irish water is the obvious one. I was going for the ones that have gone of the radar like Reilly has.
Ah thereâs a lot of truth there but I think most Irish voters talk a good game about ethics etc but vote with their pockets. See for example the Bertie years with multiple shady dealings scandals etc but the Irish public chose to ignore because they trusted that gov with the purse strings.
I think that ultimately this election will come down to which party/gov people think will most clearly benefit them. I find it it unlikely that very many voters will think one party will benefit them financially or be a âsaferâ pair of hands on the economy but then vote for someone else based upon lack of deliveryon a new style of politics âŚ
Iâm not saying this is a good thing, more that the Irish voting public normally deserve the gobshites we put in there!

The budget will play a big part in who will get in and who wont. FG are going to have a give away budget in October and then call an election right after to get back in while the budget is fresh in peoples minds and then over the next 4 years they will claw every cent back.
You have to admit that if FG have fucked themselves up so badly its barely believable. All they had to do was steady the ship make a few changes to the way things are run and they would have walked the next election but no they couldnât do that they had to go in and be even more underhanded that FF. Kenny is also a big cloud hanging over FG, no matter what the man does he always looks like gormless idiot and this turns people off FG. The man can barely answer a question unless the answer is written down for him and even then he has to revert to âyou ruined the country, its all your faultâ when debating with FF and âtell us where Jean McConville is buried or other such nonsenseâ when he is put under pressure by Sinn Fein.
On other thing I forgot I my FG list of Shit is the performance of the Ceann Comhairle. The man is a disgrace with the way he has behaved in the Dail.
Joan Burton was one of the first out defending Kenny⌠Obviously, pay back due and probably agreeing a pact for next electionâŚbudget will be very difficult with labour demanding to look after the âpoorâ and the âunions/civil servantsâ hoping to redeem themselves while fg try sweep up their usual farmers, conservatives and usual blue shirt cuntsâŚ
