How are you managing to blame this on Sinn Fein. They voted against it.

Sinn Fein are the only party that get truly scrutinized. The rest largely get a free pass…

Ireland operates on a respecting respectability MO. The establishment, with the press on board, are respectability… You don’t question them.
Sinn Fein have accents, come from working class areas and are not respectable. They are the enemy.

If Mary Lou fell asleep in the Dail they’d burn her at a stake.

Ah come on ; the boys in South Armagh don’t have that power anymore

SF despite campaigning on imaginary change were more than happy to jump in with either FF or FG, they are not separate to them or ideologically opposed. They voted against safe it would pass, but the lack of true opposition comment was in general. If all main parties are more than willing to go in with each other then where’s the alternative

Most of the good ones went to private schools mate

Yes I didn’t realise Rathgar had suddenly became working class.

We’re on about the image painted of them mate - dolers, scrougers, scummers etc. etc. etc

If Sf were the largest party in a government then the government would be noticeably left-wing. That’s a difference.

Do you REALLY believe that ?

Yes

It’s hilarious that lads cant come out and say FFG giving junior ministers a ridiculous pay rise during covid, is wrong, when so many lively hoods and now mortgage applications will be badly affect - the lads are making sure their own, who are already very well paid, are looked after.

Instead its’ - SF This, SF that – SF ate my hamster.

No surprise @Rocko and @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy are staying well clear here — The Greens have learned nothing from their last stint in gov it seems.

You’re not taking into account how talented you have to be to become a junior minister. They’re underpaid if anything.

Members against this but being in coalition means voting for things you disagree with

They should be fundamentally against cronyism - not something they can let slide to score a few points down the road ffs.

From 2011 to approx 2016 the main role of junior ministers was to be sacrificial lambs on Vincent Browne
