I see Micheal Martin is appointing Twitter troll and Eoghan Harris loyalist to a panel on NI and GFA.

Deary me.

That guy Ned is more anti Republican than any loyalist I’ve seen on tv. Shameful from Martin. This guy was Harris biggest fan

Wonder what he did for Martin that Martin owed him and repaid him with this job. This lad Ned is always getting hammered on Twitter, I actually thought it was one of those accounts that Paddy Cosgrave is going after.

Leo is some joker.

Roderick O Gorman has today published a bill which will give people who were adopted/illegally registered etc rights to their own information. It’s not an exaggeration to say some of these people have been waiting 60+ years for this. Fair play Roddy.

Was this in relation to the same thing he got a load of stick for last year?

Not quite but closely related. He got dogs abuse for supposedly sealing records from an enquiry/report. Those records would have been destroyed so what he did kept them intact.
This is legislation that Zappone was trying to pass in a much less positive environment vote-wise. Roderick has been key at pushing for it despite it not having been on his radar when he landed in office. It is one of the biggest things that survivors have been pushing for for years. Hopefully it helps them.

It’s ridiculous it took this long, all it needed was political will. ROG seems to me to be doing a good job as minister.

Adoption advocacy spokesperson tonight said it’s a disgrace of a bill and no new law is better than this

On what grounds? And can you remember the name by any chance?

From ClAnn

May have been this lady I think

Her Twitter sets out the objections to the Bill that were articlulated in any event by the contributor to Drive Time

Those people deserve to get this info. Unfortunately a lot have since passed away but hopefully another page turned in this nations dark history

Is that it? Or is there a thread? I’m not on twitter so I’m not sure what I may have missed.
I believe the ‘mandatory’ info session is just for people whose, parents have unfortunately expressed the desire not to be contacted? Up until today that was the massive barrier to getting information. The right to privacy of the mothers. Now all info will be given as a matter of course but in a tiny tiny percentage of cases people will be asked to not use that info to try to track down their (birth)mother. That strikes me as a massive result and a seachange in policy from official Ireland.

Cheers mate

Another example of roddy over complicating things and betraying people when could’ve eased their pain and had an easy win.

Can’t wait to see the clusterfuck he’ll make of the gender legislation

Flesh that out there mate.

I was researching something else when I stumbled into the November 1982 General Election results. There were some strange anomalies….

Man 1 polls 210 1st.preference votes short of a quota and fails to be elected.
Man 2 tops poll with 8552 1st preferences and also fails to be elected.

Both FF candidates actually. Useless information I know……
