Ireland politics (Part 2)

CJH was transfer toxic.

They were the days of the 70+ seats all the same. The 2.5 party system.
Back when we were a real country and fractionally before we became the envy of the rest of the world. When our leader kept his money in the fridge….

Dobbo filleting Coveny here. Again

John Ellis? Was great pals with my late father in law.

That was Man 2. The dramatic move from exuberance to devastation is still with me. He bounced back and moved on quickly enough, the spell in the Upper House cushioned the blow.

Meanwhile Man 1 is still, as yet, unidentified.

My job is done

This department of foreign affairs “party” scandal is a load of bollix. Journalists here only report it the same time as there’s a similar scandal in the UK.

Were they modelling something?

Having a drink after they working on top of each other all day & night. Big deal.

Sure they knew the same as Boris and co.

All a cod.

That fella who put up the photo must be some ape.

He’s on a nice cushy number as Ambassador to France now anyway.

It’s a nothing story but shows up Coveney in a poor light again. Always thought he was a bit more honourable than snivelling weasels like Harris and Varadkar but clearly not. Zappone-gate and now his poor handling of this DOFA issue.

The Johnson situation is bit different as it seems there was multiple organised parties. This was an adhoc drink after a major win.

He comes across as a blabbering moron and quite a dunderhead in his 2 radio interviews with Dobbo

He’s fallen off since his magnificent display on Marr discussing Brexit.

I unfortunately have to agree with you here. Always thought he was hard done by in that leadership election but he hasn’t covered himself in glory over the last few months

But it’s the OPTICS.

It’s all about the OPTICS of rules being for the little people. That’s what the OPTICS of golfgate was all about.

The big thing about golfgate for me though was laying bare the whole Irish establishment greasing each other’s poles.

Bank lobbyist groups, state broadcaster current affairs presenters, private investment firms, judges and serving govt ministers all cavorting together at a little golden circle function.

Of course the media never really honed in on this as the media are part of that little ring.

Trying to copy the mainland. I bet the No 10 do was much more hedonistic.

I would prefer the No 10 party, I’d say that was a bit livelier than the foreign affairs one.
