Ireland politics (Part 2)

EGM in the shinners war office this evening

I think most business people expected this.

Business is done in these ways :man_shrugging:

The simpletons who have either left the party or are currently on black cards are likely enough to support the Government in a crunch vote. I mean if you were earning €100k plus circa €40k unvouched expenses and not out carrying blocks would you vote yourself out into the real world ? I most certainly wouldn’t.

Silly move. McHugh will still vote with them.

As will the greens that dont have the whip

All theatre before the short 2.5-3 month summer recess.

They will say government has no mandate to govern when we need a stable government to deal with the cost of living and housing crises.

Government will respond that it’s pathetic posturing and distraction tactics when all energy should be devoted to dealing with the cost of living and housing crises.

Speeches will be made, soundbites practiced and refined, barbs traded and tweets posted for the benefit of the respective party bases.

We’ll reconvene then in mid-late September.

Waste of parliamentarians time. Like bringing on two subs in the 71st and 73rd minutes. Amateurs Ted.

Shur that’s the game. They have to really

You missed the bit where they all go and drink shoulder to shoulder in the bar for the rest of the day, joshing and exchanging small talk about the upcoming holidays

And these will last longer than the two hours given to discuss the Defective Homes Bill.

McGuinness seems like the sort of head case that Vincent Browne would have made storm off set

24 Independent TDs.

Cathal Berry - will vote against the Government unless it approves a plan to increase defence spending.

Michael Healy-Rae - said he could not support the Government due to its failure to act on the cost of living.

Michael McNamara - said he would not vote confidence in the Government should a motion of no confidence go ahead before the recess next week, citing local concerns around Shannon Airport and University Hospital Limerick.

Hello Mr Lowry…
