Will this flute regain his seat?

In a word No. There was a fraction above a quota for FF (3 candidates) last time out and you’d expect Sligo man Eamon Scanlon to gather up the former MacSharry faction of that vote and scramble home himself but it’ll be terribly tight.
SF will no doubt add McManus (Sligo) to the ticket in the hope of gaining a 2nd seat but as you know it’s a risky strategy.
A lot will depend on Harkin’s approach - she’d give herself a fighting chance of retaining her seat in the current imbroglio by declaring her intentions early.
A tricky one to call, an early shout would be 1 SF (Kenny) 1 FF (Scanlon) 1 FG (Feighan) and 1 Ind (Harkin). The most vulnerable seat is Harkin’s with McManus the dark horse to take a 2nd for SF.

Green Policies i can get behind:

  • Actice Travel policies that do not impinge on existing road infrastructure

  • rewilding initiatives, or even the reversal of whatever policies are in place that mean farmers need to clear land of scrub / "unproductive " areas.

  • offshore wind farm development instead of blighting the country side with the monstrosities

Also, getting to net zero so your kids have a future?

Clearly, he doesn’t care about his children’s future but we’ll care for him.

I won’t give my support to wishy washy catchphrases like that.

The Greens need a firebrand rooral TD that speaks to the common man to get to the next level.

Pascal’s budget looks to have done the trick.

This :ballot_box_with_check: Now have you any suggestions as to whom might fill this gamechanging role?

Could the likes of Mattie McGrath be the unlikely lightening rod

The young wan from Mayo that quit them had potential. I liked her, she actually sounded practical.

Ah no. She was a hippy. Need a strong middle aged rooral male in wellingtons
