Ireland politics (Part 2)

44 seconds into last night’s Nine O’Clock News:

“Former Fianna Fáil councillor John Hussey…”

Do your research before making a Fooley of yourself.

Have Sinn Fein commented how Thomas McKenna could get away with raping children for decades under their noses?

This is the sort of thing that’s turning voters to SF.

Lies by SF supporters, you mean?

You’ve lads here now claiming he’s not ex finna fail and he didn’t assault this lady - SF supporters are making up lies :person_shrugging:t2:

SFF merger makes all the more sense now.

The report as posted has no mention of FF links. Not a lie. Perhaps some opportunism on the part of SF supporters to highlight same but not a lie unfortunately

My sources indicate that his political allegiances weren’t mentioned on Six One (clip circulating online) but the report on the News at Nine was amended to include the reference (clip not circulating online).

The Six One headlines literally shouted “Fianna Fail” abut yer man.

The Shinnerbots decided to lie that RTE hadn’t mentioned Fianna Fail when it was literally the first thing they said in their reporting.

Try and make your fake conspiracies a bit believable in future.

I’m the victim of online misinformation.

Let that be a lesson to all of us.

here’s yesterdays 6 one news.

RTÉ News: Six One - RTÉ Player (rte.ie)

recollections, it appears, may vary

To paraphrase Kev, maybe everybody is right.

It looks like FF was mentioned when Caitrona Perry was reading the headlines at the top of the bullet-in or after a return from an ad break (Cheasty’s clip) but not referenced when she introduced the specific report on it or during Paschal Sheehy’s report itself (the clip circulating on Twitter).

Is that actually what happened. It doesn’t appear to be

No. The obvious implication to the reader of that tweet is that there a shadowy conspiracy by RTE to not mention Fianna Fail in relation to the story.

The tweet reads as follows:

Here is RTE News reporting on the jailing of the Paedophile John Hussey. At no point do they mention that he is a former Fianna Fàil Councillor. Just imagine what their reporting would be like if Hussey was a former Sinn Fèin Councillor

RTE literally said “Fianna Fail” as words 2 and 3 in their headline for the story.

As long as you completely omit where they said “Fianna Fail” in the news headlines, thus completely disproving the tweet, the tweet is correct.

The refusal to refer to fianna fail tells us exactly what we always knew

Now Minister of State, then local councillor.

He wasn’t on the council when they voted to sell land to his missus

Was he in the meeting where they discussed who to sell the land to?

We’ll be lucky if RTE mention he’s a Fianna Fail TD.

I don’t know the answer to that
