Ireland politics (Part 3)

If Russia dumps thousands of snorkels and flippers on Morocco and Algeria, it just might happen .
Watch your local beach.

The mentallers who want open borders and Ireland letting in more than Bonnie Blue every day. Now they’re getting thick because the “wrong people” are facilitating this.

There are a few fellas here who have an open border between where their brain used to be and the outside world and their brains sought asylum elsewhere.

A lot more would come here if they could. The fact that so many do doesn’t seem to bother many lads.

External influences encouraged them to go to, but we are always told that every asylum seeker is created equal.

We are supposed to ignore that the number applications in Ireland cratered after the 27th Amendment and declined further after the economy fell over.

We are supposed to ignore the “own door accommodation” comments of Roderic, the influence of the Rwanda policy in the U.K. and the narrative about Ireland’s welcoming attitudes to Ukrainian refugees impacted things.

Average number of applications in Ireland per year (non Ukrainian);

2000-2004: 9k
2005-2009: 4k
2010-2019: 2k
2020-2021: 2k
2022-2025: 15k

Interestingly the above figures do not tie to international conflicts (given Ukraine is not included) in anyway. In fact the consistent lowest level for Ireland happened during the period of the Arab Spring into the Syrian War.

Push-pull factors don’t exist outside of social media disinformation campaigns though.

It’s obvious what’s occurring. The dumb cunts will just shout ‘racist’ and ‘headbanger’ because that’s all they’ve left to say.

The secret sauce now is to blame increases on Elon Musk. You’ll get an acknowledgement that there is in fact an open ended number of people who would want to move here and you’ll also get them to point out that there should be a robust “turn them back” response.

It sure is. Youse racist paedo lovers are going insane and I’m loving it.

Youse lot have constantly screamed there are “open borders”? Any chance of an apology for the deliberate lying?

Are there any rules at all on immigration here or have we genuinely got ‘open borders’?

I don’t think I’ve ever said we have open borders. We have an open policy with the EU and our closest neighbour but that’s it.

What I’ve said for a long time now is that Ireland is seeing immigration levels at a relatively similar level to what the U.S. experienced during the mass migration periods there such as during the famine. That migration is coming from three distinct groups with differing levels of immediate and long term need. Ireland has long overshot population estimates but it has been on steroids since COVID.

In that context there isn’t much hope of solving issues such as housing and that needs to at least be acknowledged by people. Instead they prefer to ignore what’s going on and talk about Air BnB.

What are you inferring with the question? You know we have rules. You know we have a relatively open policy with some peer countries.

Would be genuinely interested to read a couple of posts back and forth between you and Mogwai on this. Ye both seem to have the time and intelligence to study it and understand it.
If ye don’t call each other names or jump straight to sarcastic comments based on posts made on other topics it would be a worthwhile discussion.

It’s impossible to know what the parameters of the debate are.

If I said Ireland needs to be closer to the Danish model (approx 1/6 the number of applications that Ireland has had seen since Covid) then maybe that’s a start.

So you should be loving the Moroccan invasion of Ceuta.

Are you for real?

Id say any old shit to get a discussion going on it. Lads insulting each other based on things they said on other topics and calling each other headbangers etc is seriously done to death.
Would you not have a facts based discussion with Tim on it?

Thats a good starting point and sounds reasonable

You seem a reasonably smart and literate fellow but your starting point was so stupid there’s no point in engaging with it, it’s why I asked are you for real, it’s surely beneath your level.

I dont want you to discuss with me I don’t know enough about it. Id love to see you properly discuss/argue with Tim though as I think he’s a relatively reasonable conservative non headbanger who just has a different viewpoint on this issue.
Pretend you’ve never seen his posts before and just discuss what he actually posts.
