Ireland v Denmark 18/11/2019

Randolph out for up to 4 weeks :frowning:

Be tight so :see_no_evil:

Is Keiren Westwood still knocking around? wasn’t on last squad.

Will Robbie Brady and James McCarthy be fit to play any part?

He missed the Switzerland game with an injury but played the next weekend and then wasn’t picked for next Ireland squad. McCarthy said no point in picking him if he wasn’t going to play but didn’t rule him out coming back into the squad.

Robbie Brady started for Burnley last weekend, while James McCarthy was an unused sub for Palace. So the two should be in contention.

what’s our strongest eleven on paper?

We need to play either Brady or Hourihane to have a chance of winning because we need someone who can put in a decent ball from a set piece.

Or Byrne possibly.

Randolph (if fit)
Doherty, Duffy, Egan, Stevens
Robinson, Hendrick, McCarthy, Hourihane, Brady
Didzy.

A big step dropping Whelan but McCarthy can do the same job and more. We need to capture the spirit of Lille.

Long for Robinson and Connolly for Hourihane on 70 mins at 0-0.
Whelan for Didzy on 85 at 1-0.

Clark played for Newcastle today. Wonder is he in the running

Could play 3 at the back of Egan, Duffy, Clark with Stevens and Doherty ahead of them as wing backs.

That would be a very good back 5 on paper

We have to go for it nothing to be gained from being conservative in this one, id have great hope in that set up, Whelan sitting in the pocket, McCarthy and Browne in the middle with Didsy and Connolly up front.

Squad this evening.

39 man squad named.

Is Mick taking the piss he is?

Just the 5 keepers named in the squad. :joy:

Whelan has been appalling here against Sevco.

Hamstring injury for Glenn Whelan, could be a blessing in disguise.

Harsh to say but hopefully Whelan will be out of Denmark game.
