Ireland v Norway

We really should have a match specific thread.

Des Curran is one of these commentators who really wants to let viewers know how knowledgeable he is. A snippet of info about a player every now & then is grand, but he’s already delivered long speeches about several players’ club histories and we’re only 6 minutes in. Less is more, Des. Just commentate on the match. Never mind Brolly, Giles et al being discarded - the sidelining of George Hamilton is a national disgrace.

What’s the NARRATIVE here @peddlerscross?

Cunningham talking about us having plenty of midfield options while I’m looking at a midfield three of Cullen (defensive screener), Browne (box to box, headless chicken) and Molumby (all action, headless chicken). The lack of creativity and guile is alarming.

Matt Doherty wearing gloves :smirk:

Kenny Cunningham has always struck me as a Dublane/Hungerford waiting to happen.

As a wise man once said these guys are no great shakes.

There was a sad moment at the beginning of the match when Cunningham remarked (perhaps in jest) that none of his former teammates speak to him now.

Kenny waffling on about some Bodo Glint players “Ma’s home dinners” would have made it into the highlights package and the RTE news updates had that Norwegian chance gone in.

Spocks magical green army playing all the football here

Molumby is a liability with his challenges.

Surely Smallbone worth a look tonight. O’Dowda doing well.

Robinson is awful, Obafemi hasn’t been much better.

Cunningham is awfully giddy in co-commentary. He’s coming across as a Begbiesque loose cannon type character.

Don’t know how Robinson is starting.

I find kenny very likeable. He’s a likeable oddball

Top, top commentary banter there.

Awful set piece to concede.

He’s chuckling away at his own quips and observations. But it feels like he could equally just lash out at some piece of equipment or maybe even Des.

0-1.

You’re trying a little too hard tonight. Less is more, as they say.
