Ireland v Norway

It’s typical of your blinkered short term approach. Sure you wanted John Kiely fired after 2017, and now look at us.

ok, the dream now is for the RTE cameras to go up the tunnel at HT and it shows Kenny banging on the dressing room door begging the players to let him in

thats the best-case scenario now

People think passing football is better to watch. But usually its awful. It is better to watch when a team is able to do it, but most of the Pep lites haven’t a clue. Give me a few long balls in behind, and a 6ft something striker trying to get a few flicks on any day

its emperor new clothes stuff

mcleans goal vs wales

O’Shea vs Germany

& this shit of passing around the back for no reason is seen as the bright new future

Whatever about the style of football we are playing under Kenny, we simply aren’t as good or better than the sum of our parts under him which really is a prerequisite for any Ireland manager.

There isn’t one player who looks like trumping his club form in an Ireland jersey at present.

I said as much last night. The problem is this watery CEO, wfh in England, seems to want to ingratiate himself with the Irish football press pack who are Kenny cultists to a man. I don’t get any sense of him having the backbone to make a decision that would raise the ire of this demographic, especially with all this faux positivity in the current anti-fact era we’re living through. As long as crowd attendances are holding up against this backdrop, & with @Horsebox quoting possession stats at the office water cooler, this shitshow will limp on.

he is a coward mate, he was hiding during the up the ra controversy and was happy to let the Irish players go in front of the media

Who do you want as new manager then mate?

Juric
Bowyer
Goodwin
Pulis
McCarthy

I hadn’t considered that @Horsebox might be the real problem here

Its fully deserved.

The Newstalk Generation and Tony O’Donoghue in their wisdom, relentlessly abused Trapattoni and O’Neill after every single game. It was disgraceful and embarrassing.

The only way this can be sorted is when Kenny is sacked and everyone can move on.

On the contrary, Kenny was asked a fairly innocuous question by this ‘Dave’ Kelly fella last night about his team half time talk, the journalist handing him the opportunity to gloat about himself and whatever changes he implemented, and Kenny blew a gasket. Spock is a full on spacer.

I’ve said it before. Current CEO only cares about getting a major tournament to Ireland. He wants it on his cv.
Everything else he says about developing the game is lip service

It’s a pity you’re so conditioned by the civil service to never want anyone fired for any reason no matter how poor their performance.

I wouldn’t blame the midfielders for not looking forward ladt night, any time they played it in to robinson or obafemi we were getting countered on immeadiately and they were doing 40 yard recovery run. We need someone who can win frees off lonesome balls in to them from midfield

In fairness to Norway I certainly wouldn’t class then as being minnows. Some fine players in that team. They’ll qualify for the next Euros. But point still stands, it boils my blood how people still defend Kenny. The “We don’t have the players” excuse is wearing thin now. Did Northern Ireland have the players under Michael O’ Neill? International football is littered with very ordinary teams who are punching about their weight.
