Ireland v Norway

That was Norways reserves with ostegard and odegaard

Bit like when the Ukrainian reserves beat us in The Nations League. Portugal put out the reserves against us in Dublin too in that game that Kenny probably namechecks in every interview. Thereā€™s a common theme of teams resting players against us nowšŸ‘€ Come to think of it, Belgium only put out the reserves against us too.

I enjoyed that one.

Lads is there a way we can agree this is all TODā€™s fault?

If we just passed it around at the back all game how did we get 11 shots? Did Doherty and the lads try a few Beckham efforts from corner back?

the vast majority of those came in the second half iā€™d say. The first half was as bad as Iā€™ve seen.

For me it just always comes back to who else would we get? I canā€™t understand this constant debate about his future when there seems to be not one single viable alternative even being mentioned.
The fellas who actually go to the matches (who in classic footix cultural cringe fashion are almost looked on as gods usually if they are scousers or mancs but are looked down on here) are very supportive of him. Heā€™s as underwhelming as you could ever wish to see but he has a contract for the next campaign and given the teams we are playing heā€™s very unlikely to get another one.

a couple of questions, if you donā€™t mind

who do you think will replace him when his contract runs out?
will Kenny improve Ireland between now and then?
why not replace him with the person from 1 now and at least give him a chance to improve things, just write off the next campaign cos we are fucked anyway?

I donā€™t know what type of shite youā€™re spouting with the cultural cringe stuff. So iā€™ll ignore that.

Viable alternatives. Would it be worth asking the likes of Dyche or Scotty Parker to have a run at it? Dyche would absolutely love it.

Scott Parker has done little to suggest heā€™d improve us. Dyche might not be pretty but heā€™d make us effective, his players seem to like him as well

We couldnā€™t afford Dyche Iā€™d say

Johnny Giles got shafted the first time. We should right that wrong and give him another shot

Or Dave Oā€™Leary

Kenny needs time. Another four years and we can begin to judge

he got fulham and bournemouth promoted to the premier league. Fulham got annihilated his first season back and Bournemouth gave him no time whatsoever.

I donā€™t think Kenny would have achieved promotion with either.

I like Parker

I mean if the match going fans in man city or Liverpool or man United were in favour of a manager and supportive of him at games etc most Irish fans would see that as a badge of honour or stamp of approval. When the fans who go to all the Ireland games do the same for Kenny they get sneered and their opinion written off.

  1. I donā€™t know but results will likely be so bad (or a further 2 years accumulation of bad ones if you think they are already terrible) that his position will be untenable.
  2. I think there are SOME positives to his reign (the intangible feeling that he actually cares about the overall sport in this country, much more positive atmosphere around the team at games, spells of good football and the odd positive result to give hope like the Scotland game) to still have tiny hope things will get better and in the absence of anything else Iā€™ll give him one more campaign before rolling out the red carpet for Sean dyche and throwing our hat at it as a going concern

itā€™s a fools hope mate. And Kenny knows it.

With 20 minutes to go last night he left Robinson on, brought off Obafemi and brought on Jeff Hendrick in a meaningless friendly. Whereā€™s the building for the next campaign. I fucking know for a fact and so do you, Jeff Hendrick and Robinson arenā€™t going to do. Why isnā€™t he giving young lads a go now in friendlies or even trying a different system than the one that hasnā€™t worked consistently for two years? Even Robbie Brady. I mean, we all know what Robbie can and canā€™t do and he was a terrific servant, but was there nobody else he could take a look at there last night? Scales should have been given a run.

Everyone says heā€™s building for the future but he isnā€™t. Hendrick, Brady, Robinson etc will all probably start against France. Thatā€™s not right
