No arguments there. Coleman is well within his rights to say as much. But there was no career threatening tackles put in by anyone in an Irish jersey. Wales put in two.

Eire v Austria and Serbia v Wales on Sunday June 11th.
Two home wins will give the top two a clear 7 point lead and make it a two horse race.
I agree with Liam Brady that Austrians won’t fancy a rocking Lansdowne Road and I believe it’ll be two home wins.
However, I think the likelihood is that we’ll have to beat the Serbs here in September to win the group.

Have any players made a full recovery from the sort of injury Coleman received and come back to the level they were previously at?
Luke Shaw got a bad one 18 months back and hasn’t got back to anywhere near his best.
Jim Beglin’s was effectively a career ender athough things have moved on medical-wise since then.
A lot will depend on whether it’s a clean break or not, I imagine. Beglin’s wasn’t and that was what did for him.
Graeme Le Saux got a bad break during the 95/96 season and got back to his best although I think that was more an ankle break than a leg break.

History is there to be broken.
Eire had a 100% winning record in games against Wales played on March 24th before tonight.
Donegal used to have a 100% winning record in Ulster finals against Derry played on Sunday July 19th, but Joe Brolly and Derry smashed that record in 1998.

Having seen the Taylor tackle properly, it’s certainly a bad tackle and deserving of a red card but by no means at the extreme end of the scale. Dele Alli’s tackle against Gent last month was far worse. The pace Coleman approached the challenge at created the force which broke his leg.
I hereby withdraw Taylor from consideration from COTY 2017.
