Will be interesting to see what sort of team Trap goes for in this game. O’Shea is unlikely to feature given slight concerns over him and Keane may be rested too given concerns over him. Would expect McClean to feature from the bench. There are probably a few who need some gametime for fitness reasons but that has to be balanced with us starting reasonably strong side. Would have thought game we have following week will be better opportunity to give some of lesser lights a run.
I saw Sky advertising this game earlier.
What time is kick off?
Like you say I presume it will be a near full strength team with Kelly likely to play at right back and Cox likely to start instead of Keane
McClean, Walters, Long, Fahey, Foley and O’Dea to get some decent gametime off the bench as well
3pm.
Oh crumbs, I will probably miss the first half :shakefist:
Clashes with the League 1 play-off final. Not cool. I might struggle to find a pub to watch that in now.
Keane and Dunne are both expected to play 45 minutes each while Kieron Westwood is likely to start in goal as Shay Given will be rested
About time another Keeper is given a run out. We all know what Given can do and he is the No 1 but we need to start giving games to the other keepers. This is something we have always been very bad at, friendlies should be used to blood players and give them experience, we never ever seem to do this for keepers.
On another note I will not be attending this game.
Bandage, have you got me freebies yet mate?
Is Dunne injured? A radio report this morning suggested he is.
Clarkey, you might be in line for a ticket but only if Rocko doesn’t want one. You know the order of preference at this stage.
if there is a minutes silence for louis please disrespect it
Paul McShane has been called up for this match as Sean St Ledger has a slight knock.
The very best of luck to Paul

Given is travelling to London for a scan on his knee this evening. However, the FAI say there’s no issue with his availability for Poland.
I’m worried. V worried. We are going to lose soneone, hopefully it’ll be someone of little consequence but its not boding well so far.

I do. Still hurts though.
Dunne is indeed injured.
Given is slated to return to training next Wednesday. The specialist in London agreed with the FAI medical team’s assessment and it’s a matter of rest for a few days.
I’m concerned about Dunne’s injury - the fact there’s nothing being said about it has unsettled me.
Starting XI - Westwood, McShane, Dunne, St Ledger, Ward; Duff, Gibson, Whelan, McClean; Keane, Doyle
Pleased with that team. Good balance to it.
