Ireland vs Gibraltar - surely be to God we’ll hammer them

We’re 5 wins from 24 competitive games now. Or as Spock will spin it “1 win from our last 1 competitive fixtures Tony”.

For contrast. MON only lost 4 (four) of his 23 competitive qualifiers in charge.

40% of those wins against this crack Gibraltar outfit.

That’s an unreal result for Ireland. Kenny has built a team the equal of France.

Nice to see the team taking a well deserved lap of honour

McClean has been a great servant.

For all the talk about these youngsters McClean and Coleman are still two of our best players.

Jason Knight speaks well and seems a good character.

Michael O’Neill the man we need. 3 points out of 12.

France, Netherlands and Greece all beat Gibraltar 3-0

Therefore, we are equally as good as the other teams in the group. Ignore what the table says.

McClean has been great for Ireland.

His goal away in Wales on his right foot to get us to the play off with Denmark for World Cup 2018 lives in the memory.

Imagine how absolutely brilliant those players were at underage level though in Ireland. And even as pros to make it in England. The levels in soccer are really mind boggling.

21 shots on goal and 14 corners

Many would say that 3 goals isn’t a good return from that but the Spockites will point to the game plan of sending in cross after cross paying dividends with 2 goals

In all fairness Soccer does its best to cater for the common man.

The Season Ticket is great value too.

Bizarre Johnston isn’t a guaranteed starter at this stage

Yes, they probably look like superstars at their respective youth level and local level but in the pro game it shows you just how far the average Joe is.

The ability you need to make it at the top pro level in football is freakishly good.

If he played for Rotherham the Footix would be clamouring for him to get in the team.

3-5-2 doesn’t suit us but against France we probably have to play that system. Against weaker teams Johnston should be a certain starter.

Be glad to see Ogbene back hopefully for the next pair of fixtures.
