I read an interview with Grealish’s father a few months back where he was compaining about Ireland not giving young players a chance. He seemed to be implying that Jack would have played for Ireland if he was called up at 17/18. What a cock up not to bring Grealish on the USA tourbin 2014 when he was at Notts County. Apparently he would have accepted a call up. That lies on O’Neill.
We have 1 premier league regular. I agree we have been very poor under Kenny but deserves this campaign.
Coleman, Doherty, Stevens, Egan, O’Shea, Robinson and Connolly have all played plenty of EPL football this year.
At this stage the WC is gone and if truth be told qualification was always going to be a massive ask to us .
The issue is can we qualify for what is a well dumbed down Euros under SK . That is what the FAI have to make a call on .
The gas thing is that until 1992 the Euros were the hard thing to reach and the World Cup the easier one to qualify for.

So we have still EPL regulars playing for Ireland, regardless of their club and plenty of them not playing for Ireland.
