Italian court ruled, unequivocally, that Roche was administered EPO in 1993. No action has ever been taken as it was outside the statute of limitations.
It killed me as he was my hero from the wins in 1987.

You are correct on our swimmer. The whisky had no traces of EPO. No traces of piss either (which I suppose, we, who partake in sipping every now and then, should be thankful for)
The swimmer was done for tampering with the drugs test.
Your hero was a cyclist ?
That explains a lot.
Ireland beating the All Blacks in Soldiers Field would surely be up there except RTE didn’t have the rights to it.
The New Zealand lads were on the piss and didn’t have any bean poles playing to catch the ball.
It’s well documented that NZ were on holidays and were not taking the game serious.
Too much Charlie for the blueshirt
Between Italy not taking the 2016 game seriously, and New Zealand being pissed in Chicago and Thomond, drug takers galore in all our great sporting events, non sports being excluded, moral victories being objected to, results in penalty shoot outs disbarred and British teams not being allowed in, it looks like we might have no great sporting moment.
In my lifetime the biggest days sport, the sporting event that had the biggest impression on the nation, in terms of clearing the streets was the Romania match in 1990.
Beating England in Stuttgart in 1988 was a bigger achievement and probably the best performance by an Irish team in any code.
The best individual achievement was Ronnie Delaney’s gold medal because it was in the blue riband event of the Olympics.
Michael Carruths gold medal comes next. Then John Treacy’s silver medal and then his victories in the two cross country world championships.
Roche and Taylor’s victories are diminished some what by being in minority sports.
McIlroys run of major was commendable but again it was in a minority sport/non sport
Doherty’s win was a high point in Victorian parlour games.
There was some young fella scored all the points for his team in a county final years ago, that can’t left out of this list.
If fairness I asked not to be included.
Some fat cunt of a townie supposedly repeated the achievement a couple of years later.
Italia 90 - nothing came near it for lifting the country
SRFC vs Partizan
1967
The man with the cap managing Meath to an All Ireland Final was truly iconic alright, but a bit leftfield.
why do you deliberately try to antagonise me?
I believe an antagonistic Giant is whats best for this forum. I know you were referring to Ollie Walsh winning hurler of the year.
That belongs in TFK greatest sporting moments.
I’m busy trying to rig an election so I asked him to stand in doing this for me
Excellent points by @myboyblue and @Fagan_ODowd earlier. I don’t place much, if any, store on supposed sports where you can’t be engaged physically by an opponent. Be that a direct challenge in a sport like hurling, football or boxing or even something like tennis, running or cycling where an opponent can overpower you or lay down a physical challenge. I’d therefore rule out moments in some admittedly skilled activities like snooker, golf and such like as they really don’t compare to achieving the zenith when under physical duress.
Take out 1) minority sports such as badminton, rowing and lady boxing; 2) bespoke agri-business showcases like horse racing and equestrianism; and 3) professional networking events masked as sporting activity like rugby football and there’s actually not much left aside from the aforementioned activities.
