Irish People Poppy Watch

Precisely. They’re the guys who robbed all round them a few months ago to make it out to Vegas, where they could rob all round them again, and then sit there and sing The Foggy Dew with him. What a misstep from a guy who hasn’t made too many up to now.

“ive the blood of many nation on my gloves” - no you don’t.

agreed
serious bad PR call there
he’s relying on the stupidity of the type of scum that fought for ireland outside the O2 the other nite when that other bearded knack from tallaght got beat, odd call

I see Babs Windsor, aka Peggy Mitchell, has come out and said that people who don’t wear a poppy can sod off…

So the poppy commemorates fallen soldiers who fought for freedom but you are not free to choose whether you can wear a poppy or not?

Fuck sake, I thought that auld cunt was dead.

When did the poppy thing turn into a cult?

Not sure when the tide turned but it gets worse and worse every year. The Brits give the yanks a run for their money with this military jingoism

It’s great PR for joining the military over there, you die at 18 and are remembered as a legend for ever with a flower that creates smack which was the reason you were fighting the same war in the first place.

The Brits are no fools.

Sky started this poppy wearing mullarkey for its presenters & pundits about 1999/2000. Got progressively worse ever since.

It’s left to savvy and forthright journalists like Jon Snow and Robert Fisk to explain the irony of “poppy fascism” to those idiots who would criticise them for refusing to wear the damned thing.
