Is he in studio? If not, its entirely possible he could be doing a number of interviews in a row with different stations, including UK ones, hence the poppy. The company which he represents owes a lot to the UK market, it would be foolish for him to make any sort of âstandâ given his position. Iâm not sure his situation is as clearcut as others.

Ah fuck it he shouldnât be wearing the poppy either way, whether he being interviewed by UK channels or not. Itâs brazen faced hypocrisy and whatâs worse really grinds my gears.
Itâs a matter of principle. It was âfoolishâ for McClean with respect to his career but his honour, principles and respect for his community were more important to him.

McClean represents himself, MOL represents shareholders. Its not as clearcut. Also MOL hasnât experienced what JMc has.
McClean represents his club in the same way OâLeary represents his company.

Say OâLeary appeared on Sky News as well as the CNN interview. Would the English people really be sitting at home in their kitchens or offices saying âLook at that Irish bastard without a poppy on.â? No they wouldnât, they wouldnât blink an eyelid FFS.

Max Foster for example was the CNN presenter interviewing that bollocks OâLeary earlier. Foster is as English as they come, he talks like Hugh Grant. Foster had no poppy and he on the box for hours and yet OâLeary the bollocks, an Irish man, is the one with the poppy on.
The difference is that MOL is world class at what he does. McClean isnât.
