Irish People Poppy Watch

Your watching too much TV.

Eh, the UK military are pushing it, obviously.

The poppy has been around for decades it is only in the last decade or so that it has been really pushed. I cant remember if soccer teams had the poppy on the Jerseys in the 2000’s probably after 9/11, definitely not in the 90’s or 80’s.

You’re not watching enough

Yes it’s to do with the militarisation of the nation in the wake of the Iraq war.

How do you feel towards the Irish lads who in the British army today.?

There will always be lads drawn to adventure - I personally think they are stupid but not from a ‘green’ point of view - Off fighting in Afghan and the likes for what? but like I said, most of these lads are not there for a cause but rather for the lifestyle… There’s always the risk they could be sent to NI as well - Don’t know how that would sit with them … be grand around July if you get called out to batter some Orange scumbags…In short, whatever.

The Redmond wing of fine gael is gearing up

Brendan Rodgers

If it’s good enough for Liadh Ni Riada and Brendan Rodgers then it’s good enough for me. Where in Dublin can one purchase a poppy?

The RNLI will have them

She looks like she’s been on the wrong end of a punishment beating

Any cunt swearing allegiance to an entity like the queen deserves the front line against the taliban.

Ah that’s a bit unfair. Tom has got plenty of credit and kudos for this over the years.

Do we (Ireland) not commemorate in July?

Good point mate.
Someone should highlight this to the senator via twitter
