The American football threads are a good barometer of the level of intelligence of TFK posters. Outside the Southern Hemisphere rugby is a joke of a sport, so fair game for ridicule. As a highly celebral sport, the intricacies of NFL would be lost on the Steve Avery types on here, the ones who think throwing a rock along the road is a sport.

That’s a good summation. The skill levels are high but not universal across the positions. I’d disagree on the lack of expression.** While a D-Lineman maybe told to rush a specific gap, he can use a variety of skill moves in an attempt to beat the block, conversly the O-Lineman can use his range of skills and techniques to contain. A defensive back may be assigned a particular coverage, but the execution of that relies on his use of his skills.** Etc…
