Was it a bit convenient for Kenny to say he was always aiming for Euro 2024 in Germany midway through a disastrous campaign? He never mentioned that early doors.
Sky are always looking for live content, I wonder could the FAI strike a deal to sell them League of Ireland coverage. The fact its through the summer must surely be a big positive. Think it would do decent figures.

Kennyās view is that he is getting a squad ready for 2024, whether or not he will be in charge remains to be seen but he has defined his function as getting the squad ready
Now you see here is the vital bit, there may well be a disconnect between what the association wants an what kennyās vision is. its possible the associationās directive is to attempt to qualify for every tournament and perhaps they would prefer hoofball over player developement and footballā¦
now you would have to be an exceptionally stupid person to think that a squad backboned by teenagers, lads at st.mirren , preston and prem league reserves could be expected to beat Portugal and Serbia, let alone be in the top european 13 to qualify for a world cupā¦ but perhaps that was what the FAI wanted, they wanted a mick mac character but couldnt afford him, they could afford kenny , told him qualify for the thingā¦ but he is doing he own thing in developing a squad and playing the way he sees the team playing in the futureā¦ we dont know you see what goes on between kenny and the FAI as both dont leakā¦previously you had fellas like my uncle cc @TreatyStones going to the limerick leader but now its all over

I think everyone deep down knows Kenny is doing the right thing now by building a team for 2023/2024 but that doesnāt mean heāll be the right man in 2023 to qualify.
Like is he capable of taking a team away to Poland or Austria in 2 years time and finding a way to get a result?
Personally I would say No, but obviously the alternatives are desperate too.

I can imagine him now sitting accross from Jonathan Hill @Big_Dan_Campbell , Hill there in a sharp suit basically wanting to sack him but kenny in the polo shirt sitting there answering questions in a blundering fashion but yet completely dismissive of anything Hill says as he know he cant be sackedā¦
