Irish soccerball nil - That boy Bazunu will save us (Part 1) 🐐

How on earth am I moving the goalposts? You put up a stat up and I’ve highlighted how you are basing your position on misconceptions. That is entirely relevant and on topic. Seems to be another thing you’re confusing.

They only have possession because they run more and win it back more
Italy run more and tackle more
Tempo… blah
We aren’t too far away from it being about referees

Yet another chip for the shoulder it seems.

Nope.

Some teams have more possession because they focus on retaining the ball, other teams have more possession because they focus on high press and getting the opposition to cough up the ball. The winner here depends on who can impose their style more. A subtle but basic misconception you miss out on.

Italy have better tactical shape than most teams. I’m sure there were other teams who might have done more so - it’s silly to look at distance in isolation - better to look at no of sprints etc and tempo played at. Again another subtle but basic misconception.

Insightful.

Which referee, the only referee I’d an issue with in the Euros was Anthony Taylor.

After all that Italy are in serious danger of missing out on the World Cup. Would they beat Scotland away? I doubt it.

Noss came on as a last minute sub today for Monchengladbach his senior team debut only the 4th ever Irish player to make an appearance in the Bundesliga, all the small steps will hopefully lead to a big leap in the future, a very positive week for Ireland at all levels.

Interesting.

Who were the other three?

Noel Campbell, Alan Clarke and Patrick Kohlmann(Similar to Noss has an Irish mother and played on the U21 side)

Anselmo Garcia-McNulty at Wolfsburg might be the next.

Leeds would be ideal for him.

Worst Penalty Decision Ever - YouTube

Good article on Anthony Barry in Sunday Times at the weekend. Ireland lucky to have him.

Yeah good article. I assume he has absolutely no Irish connections? We will do well to keep him.

The boy Parrott on the bench again for MK Dons.

Copy and paste?

Scouser whos second name is Barry must have some Irish connections.

I really don’t get this thing of chasing these young plastic paddies. If they are any use they won’t play for us, if they are shit we’d have got them anyway. Meanwhile you are denying lads who would actually love to play for us, not just their moment in the sun but also the chance to put themselves in the shop window and generate transfer fees for the LOI clubs

He’s a coach

Would agree in general but still think you do have to try at least in the exceptional cases, like Grealish or Rice even if you will end up rejected 90% of the time
