Irish soccerball nil - That boy Bazunu will save us (Part 1) šŸ

Aided by inept performances by all our midfield and shocking tactics by our manager. Weā€™re nearly always up against superior quality, that was nothing new. The space given to them was a joke and the managerā€™s substitutions at half time were baffling, we played right into their hands. Iā€™m not going to deny their quality but weā€™ve looked like a shambles for 6 months now the Wales game aside.

A bit more respect for Glen Whelan now I bet, eh eh? If only that fucker was still posting here that wished broken legs upon fair Glen.

Not really. Incidents change games, our individual mistakes put us in a desperate situation at HT. We had to score two goals and play a type of chasing game we donā€™t really have the players for against a superior team.

A lot of people completely underestimated Denmark who are a very good side, strong defensively, solid in midfield and have real top quality in Eriksen. That kind of a stuffing is always around the corner when youā€™re mixing it with higher class opponents. Itā€™s just a sad reality.

18 of the 28 competitive games Ireland have played under Oā€™Neill have been against opposition more talented than us. I think to lose just 4 of those games has been a terrific feat, weā€™ve only shipped comprehensive beatings in Denmark and Belgium. Saddle up and get used to them because the players arenā€™t there

A shambles is to be expected given the poor quality of players we have.

And manager.

Loads of average countries do well at international level because they are well drilled and organized ā€“ see @Big_Dan_Campbellā€™s post ā€” We are poorly organized and badly instructed. Our players are afraid to touch the ball ā€“ thatā€™s management and if he wasnt from the North/ ex Celtic, youā€™d be lambasting him yourself.

At half time the game was still there. We needed two goals. Oā€™Neill took off our two most defensively minded midfielders with the aforementioned Mr Eriksen on the pitch.

The result? He got a bit of space outside the box and finished the match within 10 minutes.

To say the manager has no blame for that is rubbish.

Austria at home - Georgia away ā€”

The Pretend IRA will back Grumpy Oā€™Neill to the hilt.

Bullshit. Name all the teams that finished above their seeding and qualified for this world cup.

Iā€™ve time for Oā€™Neill the man - but he takes his share of the blame ā€“ putting all the blame on the players is easy pickings.

Give me a list of all the seedings and final group places and iā€™ll tell you.

He actively courted the England job after Celtic when the Irish one was free as well.

They went with Capello. We went with Staunton.

Get the fuck out of here with your uninformed bullshit. Iā€™m not in the mood for your thumb in the air horseshit this morning.

But results have far exceeded what should be expected under Oā€™Neill. I think the Irish public need a strong dose of reality on the quality of players available to them.

We may been poorly set up but itā€™s farcical to say we are not well organised generally, itā€™s one of the main reasons we punch way above our weight.

France & Iceland (2nd seeds) won their groups. Poland & Serbia (3rd seeds) won their groups. Sweden (3rd seed) advanced in the play offs.

How many 4th seeds qualified?
