Spot on, lack of wide cover for full backs was an awful indictment of our coaches, they’re clueless. Christie at sea in first half but he was thrown to the wolves. Clarke is just very poor. Wes lost the ball most of the very few times he got on it.

O’Neill has done a decent job but its a bit overrated based on the fact that it is much easier to qualify for the Euros now than it was before he arrived and we have got several slices of luck in his tenure also

Yes, 23 qualification places now for the Euros. The spin from the Pretend IRA that it was an amazing achievement to finish 2nd as 4th seed in this World Cup group doesn’t quite stand up to scrutiny. It was a very weak group. Eire probably drew the weakest 1st & 2nd seed.

First seed Wales have only ever been to one World Cup (in 1958) and were missing their one world class player Gareth Bale for large chunks of the campaign, including the Eire game in Cardiff.

Second seed Austria had played in just 4 of the 17 Euro/World Cup finals since the 1982 World Cup, failing to advance past the group stages in any of those 4 finals and hadn’t played at a World Cup since 1998.

Third seed Serbia failed to qualify for the 2016 Euros and 2014 World Cup and hadn’t advanced beyond the group stages at a World Cup/Euro finals since 2000.
