He’s coming across a bit childish here talking about trophies he’s won in the past, even as a player ffs sake. Not relevant in the least and a line of debate more suited to an Internet forum than an international manager’s press conference

I’m afraid that my bad feeling that Denmark were actually decent, and we were up against it was borne out.
Lads seem to be overlooking that Denmark are a very good side, and played, (or were allowed to play, and that’s the nub of it) very well indeed.

Can I ask a stupid question maybe as someone with limited knowledge and interest in soccer.

Would Stephen Kenny be in the running for the Irish job? Assume he would cost a fraction of current managers wage and has a good track record of achievement against teams with far greater resources.

It would also be a huge statement of intent by the FAI

They drummed out kerr who is the very essence of everything good about Irish soccer.

Not a chance. EPL rastoolers like Choco and Mac would never have heard of him so would be on his back as soon as he had 1 poor result. They’d much prefer Steve Bruce or some other failed funboy from their beloved United or Liverpool.

The FAI won’t even give Eoin Hand tickets for games anymore, such is their hatred of any native involvement in proceedings.

you called it in fairness

he has a mixed track record - he does really well in one job, then flops, then well, then flops

What manager with a track record of only success could we attract though?

Hed probably do it for 1m a year less than MON

@Big_Dan_Campbell is the man for the job

We just need to pick our time then, get him on the up.

he is on the up now

Chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarge!

the soccer lads are circling the wagons around ONeill on the basis of not having any soccer players that are any good. it seems a bit mad to be giving a fella a million euro pa and his assistant half that when the acknowledgement is that they will still be shit.

what a proper organisation would do here is openly acknowledge that Eire don’t take the game seriously, then start taking it seriously.
Begin by asking denis o’brien if they can use his million euros to teach small kids how to kick the ball to each other, develop the grass roots, have a plan in place that aims for people to attend football league macthes in this country at some stage.
get some one like the chap you mention to manage the national team for 25% of what ONeill charges(they are useless anyway is the argument so what harm could it do)

Any I correct in saying Eire won’t play a game of note until early 2019 ?

Well that’s Mac for you. What a cunt.
