It takes a great manager like Allen to get those mad Limerick bastards to buy into a gameplan.

in fairness there´s no better hurling team to watch when up for it than limerick in the gaelic grounds…
Agreed. A joy to behold at their swashbuckling best. But they are mad bastards.
teak tough wildings…
Mad fuckers to a man.
We can only operate when in a frenzy.
Proven track record is a stretch. There is no doubt he is calm and articulate. As CCHA says above he is the CEO type and a good delegator.
If you are referring to the 06 AI win, yes he was the manager, did he build that team and mould them? No is te answer.
Has he done that with Limerick, it seem so. So credit where it’s due, and he’s a likeable man, but I think he had very little to do with Cork 06.
Cmon limerick to fuck, leave CM alone what a man. I really hope it’s those clare cunts in the final
There’s no bandwagon anto isn’t afraid to climb on board
Donal Óg Cusack said on The Sunday Game that John Allen was the best man manager he ever played under. He also said he was absolutely exceptional at devising a game plan to suit the players available to him and getting them to buy into it (using the previously mentioned skills). That’s good enough for me, but I rated John Allen extremely highly before that anyway.
You certainly deserve full credit for that, Bandage. Your belief in the man never wavered and in times of doubt it reminded us Limerick fans that we had an All Ireland winning manager at the helm.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my time on TFK, it’s that Bandage will always be proved right.
His championship record as a manager with both Cork and Limerick is superior to Donal O’Grady’s.
He is doing a good job with Limerick. He is better than your man Justin.

Do you mean '04 and '05? I think they lost the '06 final
Yes sorry.
I’m sure he learned from it, but 06 proved that you can’t keep doing te same thing and not expect someone to figure you out. He just kept the status quo in 05 & 06 and it caught up with him.
Sid - Stats never tell the whole story. Anthony Daly has the biggest pick in hurling yet it hasn’t done him much good.
I never thanked you for this at the time.
Thanks for reassuring me, mate.

Thanks for reassuring me, mate.
You’re welcome pal, we’re all in this together. Your good work in winding myself and other Limerick fans up to near homicidal levels of excitement ahead of the game will not be forgotten.
