Is John Allen a Complete Spoofer?

Kilkenny won the all Ireland in 2006 did they not?

They definitely won a few around the mid to late 00’s alright.

I think so. It’s probably in someones back pocket somewhere.

Ya, fair enough, he didn’t make shit of the team or anything, I never claimed he was bad. My point if he inherited a ready made team, which he knew the inner dynamics of. He empowered the players and let things run more or less a they were. This is good to an extent, but also naive, as KK badly exposed. Lets be fair KK and Waterford were the only real danger to Cork at that time. He had no plan B and was left floundering badly when Cody upset the AppleCart.

It’s not really that unusual, he actually wasn’t that experienced as a head coach, people may not realize that. Like any good coach he probably went away and learned from it and is now better for it.

There was alot of mistakes made by cork on and off the field in 06 which is hurting us to this day.

O’Shea’s career progression is very similar to that of Allen. Can O’Shea recover from yesterday’s result? 1 championship match played and 1 loss. Allen has 9/10 wins while Cork Boss, yet he was questioned heavily in the media for his team selection during the week.
‘’ I would have questioned John Allen‘s team selection but he deserves great credit and the Limerick manager got his subs spot on at the right time, while the two-man full-forward line, with James Ryan acting as a third midfielder, prevented Tipp from getting into a free-flowing rhythm.’’ http://www.independent.ie/sport/hurling/john-mullane-brilliant-limerick-display-left-me-with-egg-on-my-face-29332381.html

As ever, Limerick people getting carried away.

I Shea was a genius a few years ago, not now, Allen was a waste of time only a few months ago, a hero now. A bit of perspective.

Holding back young guns to bring in is not really that mind blowing. Tipp are not all that. As soon as I saw Callnan playing I thought " flaky". Conor o Mahoney hurling has not improved, he is decent, but not that great. A 27 year old making a debut (he might be a serious player yet, but still massive step up) There is only so far a coach can bring a team. They will improve, but looking at the teams as the game wa about to start I wondered why Tipp were so strongly favored.

Unfortunately I fell asleep just before half time and will h r to watch again

Who’s getting carried away Kev?

I only stated that we were the best hurling team in the country at the moment and that Munster was ours to lose.

Ye’ll lose it alright

Should that Cork side progress against Clare and have to play this Limerick team in the Gaelic grounds in a Munster final it would be the hardest title any Cork team have ever won at any level and I mean that.

Double post

Don’t be listening to him, there’s at least two All Ireland’s in this team.

Which means we probably will. The team will be probably out opening garden centres or something the week before the match.

I can’t wait to see what snazzy suits JP gets them.

2 weeks in Fiji will be some trip for the players and wags also.

What mistakes made on the field in 2006 are still hurting Cork in 2013?

there was a sliothar driven out over the canal end in the cork warm up…Frank Murphy is still looking for it in the grounds of O’Connell schools…

Didnt he have a pop at tan and some afr heads in an examiner column, calling them voyeurs

In fairness a voyeur is 2 steps away from some sort of sex offender and TAN is definitely there abouts in that regard as we have already guessed.
